Top Local Tips for Windermere

Grizedale forest Grizedale forest is a lovely day out (as long as your ok with walking obviously), you can catch the ferry early and then a bus through to the visitors center but it only runs about 3 times a day (which seems daft) so if you are going here make sure your up early and on the first bus. We drove and the signage was pretty hopeless to get here so be careful and take a map :-)

A nice place for an evening meal Go to Hyltons in Bowness for a cosy / modern restaurant with delicious food, friendly staff, & reasonable prices !

Arts and Crafts Prpbably has a better selection of art shops than other towns/villages surrounding Lake Windermere. Shops have a feel of a thriving art and craft small-scale industry.
