Top Local Tips for Winchester

Cathedral Tower Tour The cathedral tower tour takes you to parts of the cathedral you'd never get to see otherwise. It's not just a quick jaunt to the top and back. You do go up to the top, bit by bit, via the minstrel gallery and the bell chamber. Then you go back down via the bell-ringing area and then along a walkway above the nave, but below the roof - I suppose it would be the cathedral's attic! Then out onto another bit of roof before finally appearing back inside the cathedral. It's not for the claustrophobic (extremely narrow spiral stairs) or those suffering from vertigo (the height), although we had one of each type of person on our tour and both felt the experience was worth the suffering.

Good Pub Out of drive, turn right, lovely pub for luche and real ale - we had nice light lunch before going to hotel

INTEC Observatory We went to the observatory to see the shows on black holes and comits.. entertaining.. I also managed to muster up a tornado in the science museum part! (usually for kiddies)
