We stayed at the Riviera Hotel in Whitby for our wedding anniversary. Very friendly people. Lovely room with four poster bed and sea view. Very clean with tea and coffee making facilities.
We paid about £78 a night for the room and was well worth it. The bar wasn't open when we stayed, but that didn't matter as Whitby has loads of nice pubs and its only a short walk into the centre. Would definately stay there again. Made a nice enjoyable break.

Top Local Tips for Whitby
lovely old place excellent fishing village and very friendly would love to live there permantaly
Fish and Chips We went to a place that has a sign saying they won fish and chip fryer of the year in 2004 - 5, shock horror the chips were crinkle cut ( the fish was nice though) we noticed many people queing for the magpie cafe and "word on the street" is that they do the best fish and chips.
