Good value for money
We spent a very enjoyable Mowtown tribute weekend at the hotel. The hotel ran like clockwork despite some refurbishment being done to the hotel.Gus (manager) and all staff were extremely friendly and efficient. The food was of a good standard and plenty of it. The best Shearing hotel we have stayed at.

Quality? You're joking!
I was open mouthed to read the Shearings brochure left in our room-"We are committed to quality." Furnishings with pieces broken off, dirty carpet which could be compared to the thoughtfully provided new patch, windowsills patched together with rough, grey areas of filler, a mirror that had lost great areas of silvering, a pervading smell of mould from the bathroom ...I obviously have a very different concept of quality.I must say that the hotel provided me with my first ever experience of a fried egg with a hard "scab" on top! Why not a score of one? A very helpful, smiling teenager served us with our cafeteria style meals in the overcrowded dining room. Our table-mates were as surprised as us to find themselves sharing so intimately.
