My opinion of your facilities

Having read some of the reviews prior to my 5 day break with a tour company, I wanted to cancel. On arrival, I was pleasantly surprised and was given a very enjoyable holiday, the food was fairly good, and the staff polite and friendly. My room was plain and kept clean. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Riviera as did others that I spoke to during my stay.
Awful evening meals

Location is excellent. Rooms very small, but we were lucky to have a refurbished room, do ask for one! Swimming pools very good, but lack of staff around.
Public rooms refurbished, but unimaginative.
The food for the evening meals is awful ----after the 2nd evening of not being able to eat the meal, we booked somewhere else to eat for the 3rd evening. Some safety aspects lacking. Cheap.

What a great place Weymouth is only to be let down by this awful Hotel!!!! Accomodation was tiny and drab and still had the old Pontins mattress on the bed. The food was awfull, dried up, cold and the staff on thr whole unhelpful and miserable. I would like to say its one for the oldies but I could not inflict this place on them either. My advise don't even bother. What an awful weekend.
Definitely not heartbreak hotel

We had a great weekend - Our waitress (Nicole) couldn't have been more helpful - staff friendly -location perfect - just 2 miles from town centre - we walked it in 30 mins. Just 2 small complaints our tower room didn't overlook the sea and the budweisers were warm!
2 great bands - we'll be back next year!

Have been before on Elvis weekend hotel very basic food average rooms small but clean. Had a few problems with breakdowns boiler broke down fuse gone in the bar and neither swimming pool in operation on one of the hottest weekends should have had a back up of some sort no compensation may be back!!!! Lovely hotel in its day.

Only stayed 45 mins. Room tiny, bathroom smelt damp. Did manage dinner, was ok but had everything thrown at us though as we where late, 18.50 last sitting 19.00. No problem with refund. Worse than a holiday camp and we only did that once 15 years ago.

IF WE HAD WANTED TO GO TO BUTLINS IN THE SIXTIES,
WE WOULD HAVE GONE!! OUR ROOM WAS NOT EVEN PART OF THE MAIN HOTEL, BUT OUT THE BACK, UPSTAIRS OF
A FLAT-ROOF BUILDING!!IN THE BOWLEAZE ROOM BLOCK.
COULDNT FAULT THE BREAKFAST, BUT STAFF UNHELPFUL,
GLAD WE HAD ONLY BOOKED FOR ONE NIGHT. WILL NOT
BE RETURNING.

An hour in this place was too long! The rooms were tiny, dull and smelly, unfortunately I am unable to comment on the food as we didn't stay long enough to experience it. I feel that the advertising is completely misleading and it should not be advertised as a hotel, the accomodation was similar to a chalet from the 1970s! Brillant views though and there was no problem in having a refund.

Top Local Tips for Weymouth
Disabled Access/ Getting around This hotel was not very wheelchair friendly, there are steps to get to reception , lots of doors to open and you cant get around anywhere without a car. Its on top of a steep hill, not near a bus stop and at least 3 miles from Weymouth town
