Historical Traveller Reviews of Crowne Plaza London Heathrow Hotel

Great hotel

from golfer29
Had a great stay at this hotel. Computers were down when I checked in so they offered me a free drink at the bar and an upgrade to the Club Floor! The Club floor allowed access to "The Club" which had free drinks/bar and snacks - a nice way to relax. The room was a good size and was very comfortable. Took the Hotel Hoppa to the airport for 3 pounds.

I will definitely stay here again!

excellent airport hotel

from nell.australia
We stayed here the night before a very very early international flight out of heathrow.

Part of the reason we stayed here was that we are members of their hotel chain and so were able to stay using membership points.

The hotel was very close to Heathrow and fulfilled its role of being an airport hotel perfectly. The hotel was very very busy on the day we checked in but this did not distract the staff from being professional, pleasant and courteous. We had a hire car and we were able to park it and check in, drop our bags off without paying for parking. We elected to take the hire car back that night rather than at 3:30 am the next day before the flight. We found the Hotel Hoppa bus from the airport back to the hotel after dropping off the hire car to be very convenient and speedy. Although, for any more than two people, a taxi would be cheaper than the Hoppa.

The room was beautifully furnished and clean and looked to be in very good condition. The bathroom likewise was very modern and clean and new, with power-showers if this is your thing. The bed was blissfully comfortable. We were on the Club floor so were able to avail ourselves of the canapes and drinks before dinner.

We ordered room service - the meal was of average quality but not unlike other room service meals.

We took the hire car to the airport the next morning. It cost 10 pound which is a bit more than a taxi would cost but I was happy to pay as the car was on time and delivered us to the airport at 4am four our early flight.

My only regret is that we caught such an early flight as I would have loved to stay in that delicious bed for a few hours more.

If I had to stay at Heathrow again I would certainly stay at this hotel.

t think about another hotel!

Every time I fly from heathrow I always choose this hotel. You cannot fault the staff, rooms are very clean, modern and large, good leisure facilities... I can go on.

You can often get great fly-drive packages which give you extra value, but don't expect much outside this hotel as it is a bit out of the way. The airport bus is frequent and only £3 each way and I have never had a problem getting on it.

This is primarily a business hotel but they cater well for tourists, and the rooms have everything you could want. They are much larger than most London hotel rooms, and the beds are the best I have ever had.

The food is priced the same as other top hotels so don't expect a bargain, but it is good quality, and room service is always on time.

I wouldn't think of going to another Heathrow hotel after staying here.

Gave us great start and end to our holiday abroad!

from jt31
We booked the Crowne Plaza for the night before our holiday in Canada and also for the night when we got back. This meant we could leave our car in the hotel car park for the duration and meant we didn't have to do the stressful 4 hour drive home while jet-lagged.

The cost of two nights stay was only a bit more than an airport carpark would have charged us, and turned out to be well worth it!

The hotel is bright, spacious and has excellent facilities. The rooms we stayed in had 2 very comfy double beds, with plenty of room to spare. There are a couple of restaurants, a pub-style bar and even a small shop, perfect if you forgot your toothbrush, or even just want a bar of chocolate.

We parked in the hotel car park (no need to leave your keys, or drive to some god-forsaken car park miles away!), so you know exactly where your car is while you are away. The shuttle bus to the airport could not have been easier. It comes every 20 mins or so and takes about 15 mins.

Returning to the hotel after a tiring ski holiday was blissful. The large pool and jacuzzi were just perfect. We lay on the beds in the hotel bathrobes and ordered room service, which was quick and very good! It was great way to unwind and relax before our drive home the next day. Ahhh, if only all hotels could be like this!.......

Heathrow sleepover

from Warby40
Stayed here for just one night prior to an early morning flight. Hotel room was a good size with two double beds and large bathroom. The hotel looked as though it had recently had a refurb. The lounge and bar areas were quite busy and noisy, and the bar staff weren't the quickest to serve. Check-in/ out were swift with no queuing

Hotel is approx 5-10 mins from the airport, and there was no aircraft noise. There were obviously a lot of cars parked at the hotel whilst people travelled abroad, and it was quite tricky to find a free parking space. If you decide to leave your car at the hotel whilst you're away, there are regular shuttle buses to the terminals at Heathrow.

One of the best airport hotels

from matt_robertson
We spent one night at the Crowne Plaza 11/3 prior to flying out of terminal 4, and must say that it's one of the best airport hotels that we have stayed in. It's not often that we have an enjoyable stay at airport hotels, they tend to get away with being sub-standard due to their captive audiences. The room at the Crowne Plaza was clean, large, comfortable and the staff were very pleasant.

There are 2 restaurants, a pub that also serves food (that is/was closed on the Friday night, I presume that this sees more trade from business passengers during the week) and a large bar area, all are just off the reception. We ate in the bar area as the restaurants had a very limited vegetarian menu, the food was good and of reasonable value.

The pool is nice, also quiet for an early morning dip, there was also a well fitted out gym.

The Crowne Plaza is very easy to access, it's literally just off the M4, that said, you don't hear the motorway or planes when in the room. Our rate included parking on site, and being close for the motorway it was great for a quick getaway when we got back.

We were travelling from terminal 4, so opted for a taxi, rather than the bus and then the train to T4 from one of the other terminals. Asked the hotel to arrange a taxi for the morning, the trip cost £20, which we felt was a bit steep for the distance, this was proved correct when we returned and used a hackney cab back from T4, which racked up £12 on the meter.

We got the night in the hotel and parking for up to 15 days for just £89 - without a doubt, this will be the only hotel that we will use in future when flying out of Heathrow.

Super Place!

from Milfreeda
Nov. 15 and 30 (nights before flights out of Heathrow). Top notch place...clean large room, quiet, comfortable, excellent food, gift store, Hoppa Bus to/from airport stops there. Had not stayed near Heathrow for years so can't comment on fairness of price. Will definitely return!

Efficient and comfortable

from Gaspari
Very comfortable modernised (2002) airport hotel with spacious modern rooms, compact but attractive bathrooms and an excellent (albeit expensive) english breakfast. Good beds and bathrobes as standard.

Pleasant motivated staff and overall good for a 4 star British hotel! Would stay again, as does what it does well, and has a nice atmosphere for a volume transit hotel.

Heathrow Hoppa quick to the terminals and only costs £3 each way or £5 return.

ok but beware of the outragous costs of lunch and dinner!

from cadams
We just came back from a one night stay at this hotel. The rooms were quite spacious and clean. The breakfast was ok, and was included in the price of the room. The biggest complaint we had was the price of their lunches and dinners! Because it was a bank holiday and most attractions in town were due to close at 6 pm, we basically had little choice but to stay at this place for meals. The menu for both lunch and dinner was the same, and very limited, and quite costly. We were shocked to find out that the price of a bottle of still water was around $US 7, and even more outraged at the cost for a glass of wine for US$20!!!! -- no I did not mis-read the menu -- yes that was per GLASS!!! Next time, I plan to stay at the Marriot at Heathrow which was by far better in terms of cost, service, ambience, room size, etc.

Good Hotel - Avoid the Hotel Hoppa shuttle

from tiglet1
If they could only build hotels like this in the center of London. What you would expect from an airport hotel. Big rooms and lots of them. We went there for one night as we had a 630 flight the next morning. Check in was easy - internet rate was good.

As we were trapped for the night, an expanded tv channel selection would have been nice.

Since there is no where else to say it on trip advisor - I will say it here. There is a shuttle bus that services all the airport hotel - the Hotel Hoppa. I believe it is 8 pounds per person per one way trip. Having taken it before - avoid it like the plague. A taxi ride is about 10 pounds each way - we caught one from Terminal 1 to the hotel - and they used the meter. I think it was 11 pounds and 5 minutes. We booked a cab for 515am the next morning with the hotel - 10 pounds fixed rate to T2 and 5 minutes. As we were leaving we saw the hotel Hoppa arrive - it was the first bus of the morning, and it stops at three hotels before going to the airport. Obviously the Crowne Plaza was not first - it was seemingly full when it arrived and there was a long queue waiting. If there is more than one in your party - you save money. If you are traveling alone - you save frustration - and make your flight...

Top Local Tips for West Drayton

Legoland Very easy to get to Legoland from the hotel only about 20 mins if no traffic.

getting there We flew into Gatwick, took the National Express to Heathrow and the Hotel Hoppa to the hotel. I'd definitely rcommend taking a taxi instead of the Hoppa, which we did in the morning. The Hoppa makes a lot of stops and it takes twice as long.

West End It was 1 hours drive by coach to the West End but well worth it.
