eating and drinking If you have to stay in Warrington stay in either the suburbs of Grappenhall or Stockton Heath - some excellent pubs and restaurants (esp Stockton Heath) in these areas. Avoid Warrington town centre like the plague!!!!

Great value Chinese lunch - Hoi Tin, 6, Bold Street, Warrington Lunch (Mon-Sat) is from £5 (we splashed out and had the £6 menu!!!), freshly prepared food, good vegetarian choice and friendly service. The menus are three course, the only thing that let it down was the "apple pie and cream" - turned out to be a Mr Kipling-type affair - but what do you want for a fiver!! I'm sure that the banana fritter would have been a better option!
