A small friendly hotel, set in the style of 'old world character' which lends to it's charm. Staff are friendly and flexible to requests and the food on the varied menu is freshly prepared and of good portions. Accomodation was clean and tidy and we found no problem with sleeping even though the hotel fronts onto the main road. This old merchant's house with its uneven walls and rough beams along with unconventional shaped rooms makes for a comfy stay taking you back in time to ancient Dorset. Parking is limited but this is a small Dorset village and larger car parks are situated nearby should their spaces be full.

I arrived on a Monday evening, which I found later to be one of the days that the restaurant is shut. However, on ringing the bell I was greeted promptly by friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean, tidy and fresh. The ensuite had a good shower and a hand basin (a little small but perfectly adequate) and soap/shower gel was provided. Although breakfast is normally served a little later (830am I think) they were very happy to do my full English breakfast at 730am.
All in all my stay was very pleasurable and great value for money when compared with similar establishments in the town and surroundings. Being centrally located it is great for walking to other pubs and restaurants that Wareham offers. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Myself and my husband have stayed here three times now and have enjoyed it each time. The breakfasts are lovely and they were more than happy to make us a delicious packed lunch incl. yummy home made cakes ion the days when we were out and about! In the evenings the restaurant downstairs is fab and the staff and service are really welcoming and friendly. the area is tranquil and Monkey World just up the road is brilliant fun!! Would highly recommend
