Arrived on the Friday stayed until Sunday. Very good choices of food. Staff lovely, beauticians very good. Nice, relaxing weekend. Saturday was lovely so we sat out by conservatory in between treatments. We all had a brilliant time and we hope to go back near Christmas. It was my sister in laws 40th birthday and she had a well of a time, there was 6 of us and we all enjoyed it. I was reading reviews before we went and I was dreading it. So take no notice of the bad reviews. The place is dated, but it is a mansion and very old. We had a lovely time. Thank you to all the staff. We were made to feel very welcome.

We went as a group of 14 ladies for a well deserved break from the kids etc. Well where do I start on this very eventful weekend. Firstly the rooms vary greatly. From large to very small. My room was dated, no bath, leaking shower, very dirty kettle with tape wrapped around cord –(just a slight safety hazard). No heating (late September even though we asked for it to be turned on at least 5 times). The swimming pool was freezing cold. The Jacuzzi had dirt at the bottom, very hot and you came out slimy!. Buffet lunch and Evening meal we thought was ok (see details at end). Breakfast was disgusting, Bacon inedible, frozen croissants and the pot of tea went back 4 times (don't know what teabags they use but they did not colour the Luke warm water) before we gave up. Lunch on the Sunday seemed ok – till the first person started being sick –then within 2 hours all of our party of 14 was being ill. So our well deserved break ended up with us all going home to bed, our partners having to take time of work to look after kids. Myself being 1 of the 34 people who contact Enviromental Health after staying at the hotel, Enviromental Health has said it was the Noro Virus and the hotel was not at fault - well maybe the chef should not have been cooking our food seeing his family had been ill - and then so was he. All in all – I would not go back to the hotel if I was paid.
