Not very good
My husband and myself came back a couple of weeks ago from this hotel. Never again. We had to change rooms as the bathroom in the first room was disgusting and I did not care to shower in it. Black mold was in the very antiquated shower, the ceiling was peeling and the door was rotting at the bottom. It was on the 4th floor with the smell of the kitchens hovering over it and looked out onto a back yard and brick walls. Also the shower was very tiny, and the sink was avocado green. I can only assume that it had once been a cupboard. The management were very reluctant to change our room and only did it when I mentioned how bad the shower was. The new room was bigger and had a proper bathroom in, but could still have done with a refurb. In fact the whole hotel could do with a refurb. Waiter service at breakfast does not work, better to be a buffet style which would be a lot quicker. The lift is very small(6 people) and very slow. This is the only lift in the whole building. Good service nice food
Spent a very nice 2 night stay at the Torbay Hotel. It has been re-furbished since my last visit I could't fault the food or service. The down side was parking for the disabled. Had I been on my own there is no way I could have used the car park made available to guests. I was told there was one space used by the hotel, one for 113 bedrooms is very poor. So now I do not know if I will be able to go there again. Another point was that I was over charged by £30 according to the published price, told it was because I did not quote the "Daily Mail" code No, I will be taking this up with the main office. I was in a party of five.

Torbay Hotel
Just returned from a five day break with shearings holidays, can't praise this hotel highly enough, the staff were always pleasant and couldn't do enough for you, the food was excellent and with plenty of choice.
Our bedroom although basic was roomy and very comfortable and warm(a little too warm actually!) my only complaint was in the bedroom the woodwork and skirting boards needed a lick of paint but other than that no complaints, also the hotel was only a stones throw from the shops, Princess Gardens and harbour front.
Would recommend this hotel to anybody, had great time.
