Stay here...Great Hotel...excellent sea views

We visit Torquay every year and The Downs is the best ever place we have stayed. The views are spectacular. Beautiful sea views from our family room! The hotel staff are fresh,vibrant & welcoming; exceptionally friendly. Room was very clean, bedding and towels properly laid and fresh. The breakfast was yummy and we just wished we could stay longer. Parking is easy and the hotel is ideally situated near to Kents Cavern, The Model Village and town centre. There's a wonderful fish and chips shop which serves the best food! Very child friendly too.

Reasonably priced warm rooms as well considering it was an ensuite family room, and we'd originally wasted money on another place the night before!

We love Kate & Ed...and what you see advertised on the hotel site and in their brochure is what you'll find when you arrive at this fab hotel...a home from home. We'll definately revisit and recommend this hotel to everyone we know.

Top Local Tips for Torquay

The best of both worlds Babbacombe is a great location to stay in. It is a quiet, friendly place as is its beaches. A short taxi ride (approx £5) takes you into Torquay where you can be part of the Husstle and Bustle for as long as you fancy before returning to the tranquility of Babbacombe.

Buses The bus service was very good - also the fast ferry to Brixham - lots to do in the immediate area.
