Paid nearly £600 for the two of us (8 ngt). Food and all staff were excellent, on arrival asked to change tables as we were seated on a set for 4 diners , not six. i asked the manageress who rudely stated if we wanted a table for 2 that it should have been made on the booking form. On the departure day we were late vacating so our luggage was in reception. when we returned, shouted " You can't go in the room. Your bags are here.", no excuse me , please or thank you. I highly recommend a customer care course for her (or it). The food was excellent and eat as much as you like. The room was clean but beds were a little uncomfortable. Location 5 mins walk to sea front. There is also a handy roadtrain which stops a little futher down the road and takes yoy to the park and town centre and runs every 45 mins ( price £1.60 single trip of £3.00 for a day ticket and hop on-off anywhere along the route.. Overall score 7/10

Efficiency but....

We found the staff very friendly and efficient in running this hotel but it is so old fashioned and "tired". The amount of steps and stairs made getting around very difficult for senior citizens. Needs some TLC in the very near future. The buffet-stlye meals of plain, tasty food was one good point but the bedrooms badly need a coat of paint or wallpaper and the furniture needs a good overhauling.

Me and my partner have recently stopped at the sherwood hotel in Torquay. We found it very welcoming and the rooms were really clean and tidy. The food was lovely, the best I have tasted. The staff were very friendly and I would definitely reccomend it to everyone. We had the best week ever and we will both definitely be going back next year.
