When we first arrived - not impressed. Our room was big enough but dark, faced a main road on a steep hill with fast, revving cars on it and had black grimey windows from the exhaust fumes. Opening them was unbearable noise and smell.
However, on speaking to Sue, the owner, she informed me they had a couple of spare rooms and she immediately moved me to another room with seaviews, a balcony, lots of room in the main room, and a bath.
The hotel in general is in line with the cost, functional not immaculate, the rooms we saw both had old 14 inch tvs with no remotes and the front covers missing etc. Our bedside lamp had no pull cord to turn it on and no other way to turn it on. Just little things really. Outdoor pool although too chilly to use.
Overall, for the money, I would have no qualms using it again for a short getaway next Spring providing we can have the second room we enjoyed this time around!!
Have seen far worse rooms before so I say go for it! The cooked breakfast was plentiful and tasty too, no cheap food and not running in grease.
2 minute walk to the front and a lovely walk into town from there for the energetic.

The breakfast was hot and freshly cooked which I really liked after having had so many cold fried eggs that had been on a hot plate for hours in other 2 star hotels. The evening meal was OK, nothing fancy but the menu changed every day. I agree with Ali the first reviewer, they could have done with remote controls for the TV's which were a bit on the small size. Overall, I can recommend this hotel for the budget traveller. I would stay there again happily.
