I would like to thank the staff at the Kistor Hotel for the wonderful holiday I have just had. It was my first holiday on my own without my husband and it was a very friendly and pleasant time. Everything from the bedroom to the food and the entertainment was really good. I was there with North British Tours highly recomended. Thanks again for the memories room 27. 6th = 13th June 2009.

88 retired vets spent a great 3 days. very good food and excellent service. Staff very helpfull and friendly .Not one complaint from us .Well done Eileen and night porter. All at excellent rates

me and wife and son stayed at this hotel august 2008,one of the best holidays we have had in torquay,staff outgoing,great food,good indoor swimming pool,massive bar and lounge and entertainment,rooms were clean and comfy beds,i carnt reccomend this hotel high enough,its that good we have booked again for 2009,why go abroad their are some gems in this country,its just finding them.thanks to all staff and see you again soon,mr rodgers

Arrived at the hotel a little apprehensive after reading some of the reviws in here,but was pleasently supprised when we was greeted by the manager (Peter) before we even got off the coach, we were shown into the lounge to a welome drink of sherry while the porters unloaded our cases and placed them outside our room doot.WE had a twin room of adequit size, beds were comfy and clean, them down for our evening meal, A 3 corse multy choice menu,which arrived at our table within 5 min's of ordering, and piping hot, the speed and quality of the service was first rate.After you can step outside for a shurt walk to the sea front, or stay in the bar/lounge for bingo and entertainment. we enjoyed our 5 days at this hotel,which deserves a higher rating than it's 2 stars.
My one gripe is the bar prices are a little steep, but would have no hesatation of returning

We were a group of elderly people from Swindon. We enjoyed every moment of the holiday, it was turkey and tinsel. We will be coming back again next year, the staff was very helpful, and the barman GRAHAM was great. Good service all night, the food was good ,and the entertainment was great. A big Thank-you to all the staff they made our holiday....see you all next year thanks again Carron xxxxxxx

Despite having read a poor review of the kistor, we went regardless! We were pleased that we did.The food that we were served was on hot plates and was of a high standard providing you're not looking for haute cuisine. The management and staff were all pleasant and eager to help.The entertainment was very good, so good that non residents flocked in night after night.We had a great stay in Torquay and were glad to have stayed at the Kistor.
Ideal if you are over 65 and not fussy what you eat !

It was a special break away to celebrate our Anniversary. Found room very basic , in great need of decoration and a boost into the 21st century. went for our evening meal at 6.40 the restaurant was not half full. Sat and waited & waited eventually got asked what we wanted we didnt know as we had no menu ! Good start. We chose prawn cocktails a starter. The waiter informed us they had non left and then we were told to have soup which when it arrived was
packet thick and tasteless!! Asked for a roll to be told yet again they had run out !! This was the final straw.. it didnt really get any better. Thwe waiters were all foreign and didn't really know what they were doing.We went into the bar to find it full of miserable faces... everyone was over the age of 65.. not really our scene. enough we went elsewhere. Needless to say the next evening we went out to celebrate our anniversary.

This is a lovely hotel in a good location. All of the staff, without exception, were very friendly and helpful. The rooms are in good decorative order and well equipped. The food and service in the restaurant were very good.
I would definitely stay at the Kistor again.

we all realy enjoyed our stat was great with you very good meals even vegetarian was great all staff great and very clean all round only bad word would be smoking and non smoking to close together for a family hotel
