Devon Court Hotel Torquay

The only saving grace is that I wasn't paying for it. If you are an octogenarian then this is the place to stay!! I am uncertain whether it used to be a nursing home and has become a hotel or...... The chairs in the restaurant were shabby and had the remains of dribbled food on them. The decor in my room was dated and tatty. There was carpet laid in the bathroom that had certainly seen better days. I think carpet in a multi occupancy bathroom is vile. The gardens are beautiful as stated. The leisure facilities are adequate but very well lit in the photos!! On a brighter note, the staff were very helpful and polite. T This is definately not a four star hotel. Also the bar closes at 11pm.
