my husband and brother in law have just come back from 5day trip we have had a exlent time host was very aprochable and so was the staff & the entertanment was very good room was clean but small shower was small for me but overall a brillent time

my partner and i have just come back from county hotel on a 4 day all inclusive stay we both had a great time there we found them very helpful in all our needs both manager and staff some rooms were a bit small but ours was lovely very clean and tidy bathrooms a bit small but clean and beds very comfortable, even the cleaner was helpful as to were to shop or drink etc, sam and myself would recommend the county and would like to thank all the people we met on coach down there for a brilliant weekend even the coach driver mick was a gem

After our stay at the County hotel in Torquay we were very unhappy. We dont normally complain but on this occasion things were just not as they should be at a hotel. Our coach party were not made to feel at all welcome. The hotel seemed to be more like a social club for the staff and their children and friends. Our room was in need of some tlc, and when we reported problems, nothing was done. It was impossible to find anybody who seemed to be in control of running the place as a hotel should operate, a total lack of management presence. Sometimes it seemed like there were no staff in the building. Entertainment was what you expect at a coaching hotel, and food was average. But the attempts of the youngsters who were trying (very badly) to run the place showed that they lacked guidance or experience and just couldnt cope with the most basic things. I am afraid nobody on our coach would like to return, and we shall be making complaints to National Holidays accordingly. A thoroughly poor show.

I wouldn't give the food to a dying dog! The choice was terrible. DO NOT TRY THE COTTAGE PIE!!! The staff and management couldn't cope with the slightest requirement. The bathrooms were small and the showers dirty. The worst hotel we've ever stayed in.

this was the first time i stayed at this hotel and i would without a doubt return again and also reccomend to my family and friends staff were very helpfull and kind managment were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay very much entertainment was provided every night and was excellent. would reccomend to anyone many thanks for an enjoyable stay with yourselves

Our recent stay at this hotel was generally very enjoyable, we found our room to have everything we needed and it was cleaned daily to a good standard. We liked the choice of food and the staff were nice. Bar was open until late each night, good selection of drinks and good prices, definately one of the better Torquay hotels we have stayed in over the past 5 years and we would go there again, John + Anne

1. Although our deposit had been paid - we were not expected! 2 adults and 2 children.
2. Cleaner left room door open while we were off site swimming!
3. Water glass at evening meal had lipstick on it! I asked for it to be changed because of this and never got a clean one in return!!
4.Hotel would not take payment by card only cash! and it took 2 days of reminders before we got our receipt! No date - no names - wrong proprieter on letter-head!
5. Breakfast and eve meal service was very quick - however no menu was provided giving breakdown of what was on offer.
6. We were very dissapointed with quality of food. It had been cooked and left then obviously reheated. We only continued to eat at the hotel because it had already been paid for.
7. Phone in room was very dusty,t-pot too and the cups we chose to wash in boiling water as they showed signs of remains of tea/coffee.
8. Other visitors commented on food quality too.
9. We have visited the county hotel for numerous years - seeing at least three proprietors - all of which provided extremely high quality service and food.
10. Young serving staff were very pleasant therefore bringing our review score up to 3.

Dated old not up to standard, a lot of out side noise as situated on a main road with the traffic lights right out side. The all inclusive bar was not up to standard the as there was lack of diffrent drinks.
Breakfast was ok but if you are unlucky enough to be staying on a weekend do not have the roast dinner terrible. Beds uncomfortable your better of taking your own pillows, would never return.

Having done several weekend breaks with National Holidays and found the hotels where good, we thought we would try a week at this hotel. What a mistake! The room hadn't been cleaned the only day the bed was made the door was left open whilst we where on a day trip. The evening meal had to be ordered at breakfast time with a minimum choice of meals. Veg over cooked and soggy. Only good thing friendly girls waiting on tables.
