Unhappy experience at this hotel

For a 3* hotel @ £140 per night B&B this was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in, poor value for money. Exceptionally shabby and neglected. The staff were excellent but let down by their surroundings. On complaining at reception was advised to put comments in writing. I would not recommend this Hotel to anyone, the 3* rating misleads and does not reflect the shabby condition of this hotel.

This hotel is dated, but lovely. The staff are first class, ever helpful. The restaurant is superb. Service is faultless, food superb. Yes the hotel could do with a lick of paint here and there, but overall, very good.

After deciding to take a weekend break to Torquay, we booked the Corbyn head Hotel. On arrival all looked well. The staff are very friendly and food good, but the hotel is appalling for relaxing. The rooms are very small, and this is the noisiest hotel we have stayed in and I have stayed in plenty. The floorboards creek and groan everytime someone walks along the dated and gloomy corridors. The walls are paper thin so don't expect privacy, you can hear people across the corridor and about three or four rooms down the corridor.Very poor stay so you have been warned.

Top Local Tips for Torquay

Places worth a visit Paignton Zoo is well worth a visit. Young children will love it and even if you don't have children it is still a good day out. My boyfriend and I spent a good three hours or more looking around, which made the price good value for money. We got a joint saver ticket with the sea life centre in the centre of Torquay, which although does not have so much to see is still a pleasent way to spend an hour - and has free range penguins, which were fun. Another good place was Kent's Caverns (take a coat, as you are down there for an hour and a half and it gets cold) although very young children may not like such a long time in the dark. A word of warning - we found that after dusk and out of season the atmosphere in the centre of Torquay changes and feels a little more threatening, although in the day it is very family orientated.

easy rider get the local bus to brixham, newton abbott. dont get 12A it goes all around the estates, get the 12

Bus Fares Buy a weekly bus ticket as the bus fares individually can become expensive!
