Having just returned from this hotel and speaking as we found,we would have no hesitation in returning here, we have had a lovely relaxing few days, our room was clean, (the decor perhaps a little tired but it didn't matter), the staff all very friendly and helpful and the food was appetizing with a good choice menu. Everyone we spoke to had been to this hotel before and many have returned several years. I think this speaks for itself. Perhaps 'very misersable' may have felt the same anywhere! I have never read such an undeserved review.

Very miserable

Rooms were ok could do with a revamp, they were never cleaned probably, the TV was never dusted on top , we even wrote our name on it, tea stains were left on top of drawers. Pools were lovely and clean, Staff, well what can I say, there was never anyone about, reception was always empty and if you needed anyone you had to ring a bell and wait for them to come upstairs, if you wanted a drink from the bar you could only get one when they decided to open it, and the bar often closed early, the owners are selling the hotel and had lost interest in it. Food, we sent it back three times on different nights as it was really cold, waitresses didn’t know how to serve the food to you and often plonked the food down and left it to you to sort out, many people had said the lady behind the bar was extremely miserable and made you feel very uncomfortable, would not return to this hotel!!!!!!!!!!!

We feel the bedrooms could have been cleaned to a higher degree. Cups and saucers in the bedrooms weren't always cleaned after use. Hard to access areas such as under beds and wardrobe tops were caked with dust. I had to clean the bathroom mirror on arrival...a pet hate of mine! The hotel advertised entertainment, but they only put it on for one night in our 9 night stay in July. A member of staff said this was due to lack of residents. We understand the reasoning, but this should be stated more clearly in the brochure.

On a positive note the meals were reasonably good and staff friendly.
