Definitely a hotel to be avoided! Booked online via an agent: no problem. Arrived at the hotel to be met at Reception by a very unfriendly/unhelpful bloke, who turned out to be the Manager! Hardly giving me a look he gave me a key and pointed upstairs. At first glance the room looked ok, but one of the bedside lights wouldn't work and one of the windows was seriously cracked. Reported to a much more friendly lady at Reception, who at least apologised before telling me they couldn't help! Spoke with the Manager later on, re the bill. Didn't want to know. “Not my responsibility. You booked through an agent: Speak with them” Charming! The breakfast was truly awful. The bacon/eggs/sausages etc. were overcooked; no chance of being served a veggie breakfast; staff just hung around criticising everyone they could think of. On the plus side it had a decent pool and gym, but we just wanted to get away as fast as possible!

The worst hotel I've ever stayed in

Where do I start? On arrival, the girl at reception was texting someone in between that the phone rang and I was told to wait. That should have been my first clue about the service I was to exspect. There is a sign in reception stating the hotel is undergoing refurbishment and that is not stated on the website. Also, it is no excuse for for hygene. The hotel was understaffed, the lift didn't work. Fortunately, both myself and my wife are very active, just as well it seems. The ten pin bowling was out of action, had been for twelve months or more according to one of the maids. Now dinner - they sent us a sample menu so we could see what to exspect. It was nothing like the menu on the first evening also we were the only ones dining. The dining room was filthy, cobwebs, dead flies and wasps litterd the window sills. The room we stayed in was adequate. It had that musty smell you get with dampness. The bathroom was ok, but you had to be quick in having a shower as the hot water didn't last long. In there favour, they did have a decent gym and indoor swimming pool. My wife tried the health and beauty spa and was impressed. All in all the hotel is old, run down and understaffed. When we checked out, the chef was manning reception. I feel very cheated as it is nothing like their website and for sites like these,I hope I save sombody else from making the same mistake.

Do not stay at this hotel!

We arrived late at night to be put in a damp, mouldy smelly apartment (Marlow Suite), which we refused to stay in and got moved to a hotel room that was very tired, bath tap leaked all night and the room was for myself, my husband and daughter plus my sister. There was only curtain seperating us. The next day we moved to another apartment and this one had a fold out sofa bed - it was old and worn and so uncomfortable that we slept on the floor. We would definately not stay there again!

Should have been a luxury family celebration weekend but this is what we got. Shabby rooms, dinner was poor (my sister in law spent all night in the bathroom), (we were a party of six and were told there were only 5 bread rolls available at dinner so one of us would have to go without!), catalogue of other disasters, including my disabled mother being put on 1st floor at one side of the building and our two rooms were on the second floor at the other side of the building. Her telephone didn't work so I had to run between rooms to check she was OK. (This after we had specifically mentioned her disability on booking and were told there were only two steps she had to negotiate - wrong, two steps, then about 17 up to the next floor, long walk to a lift which was very slow - notice informed you of this - to 1st floor, then long walk through coridoors and fire doors to last room in the building. Left after one night. Gave personal personal feedback to Mr Haig (Deputy Operations Manager) who promised the owner would contact us and accepted full responsibility for all the faults. No-one has been in touch despite repeated e-mails. Hence this review. Don't believe the website - everything we saw was tired and shabby. Maybe fine if you're in your 20's and only interested in pool, fitness, tanning areas but not if you want a good quality room or service. Paid £142 per night per room for what would have been a poor 2-star if it was in Spain!
