We have just stayed at The Angel it was purrr-fect, apparently it has new owners, the staff were so helpful and friendly and very professional. Our room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. We had a 1st class meal in the resturant that you could not fault, Breakfast was amazing, I will be recommending this place to my friends and will have no hesitation to stay here again. why is it registered as a 2star, Iv'e stayed in 3star and above that wasn't as good as this.

The hotel iteself was reasonably comfortable, if cheap chic. The menu was very limited and overpriced, the food small portion and overcooked, when a complaint was make, dealt with inefficeiently!

Having being stuck in traffic all day, my sat nav sent me to Topcliffe and the Angel Inn and as I have trouble driving at night I decide to stop and rest. I was greeted and made to feel very welcome without my intentions known by a bunch of very cheery staff and was told that I just managed to acquire the last room for the evening to which I was surprised as it was a Monday. As it was 9 on the dot, the chef who was on duty agreed to stay a little longer (their kitchen closes at 9) and prepare me some dinner, a very beautifully done sirloin steak of which I have not had in years just how I ordered it on the rare side of medium rare and warm in the middle the veg was fresh and succulent and the house red wine was just superb (this all before I had even seen my room. A barman took my belongings upstairs even though they said they do not offer a porter service.) I had a very friendly chat with the barman who made it seem as if I was a local who had bin there for ten years whilst I finished of my wine and took my leave and retired to the bedroom. The little inn inside is generously and tastefully furnished with all you imagine an inn to be I was pleasantly surprised for what I had seen so far as the room rate was so low. The room itself was just perfect a tea and coffee making facility, TV, the norm and spotlessly clean from floor to ceiling and the bed so unbelievably comfortable. I am not a breakfast fan so skipped it all together and was checked out my a lovely and very cheerful young lady who could not have bin more helpful in directing my back to the motorway just one mile out of this beautiful little village.
All in all, it was the most pleasurable experience a weary traveller like myself could ever need and is now my usual rest spot whilst on my business travels. I highly rate the Angel for any businessmen who needs a warm, comfortable and good nights sleep friendly banter with the staff and steak done to perfection.

Everything about the Angel Inn was a pleasure. The family room was very comfy, the full breakfast spot on, the extensive dinner menu was freshly prepared and very good. The staff were professional and friendly....a wonderful experience all the way around. Highly recommended!
