My family and I stayed at this hotel while house hunting in the area. It was advertised as a rural retreat, so we expected a little luxury and peace and quiet. We were wrong the hotel is to say the least grubby and dated. When we checked in we were told there was a function being held that night. Couldn't they have told us this at the time of booking? We had two rooms which were right above the disco and the music was blaring the rooms were freezing cold and the fan which came on with the light in one of the bathrooms screamed its head off if we used the light and so had to pee in the dark!! We had no chance of getting to sleep and so sat shivering until 2 am when the raucous finally died down.
Breakfast was all pre-cooked a few hours earlier we smelled it cooking even though we were the first ones down a couple of hours later I could not even get my knife through my dried up bacon budget sausages along with happy shopper yogurts not quite fitting for country house hotel.
The staff hadn't got a clue manager didn't know what time the pool opened waiter didn't know what time breakfast was.
In my humble opinion stay at one of the local country inns full of character and an awful lot better value. Stay away from the Cadmore lodge exceptionally poor value for money and needs a total overhaul staff and decor.
