The staff in the hotel were so friendly and it was very clean. There are bins everywhere so there is no litter. I thought it was really fantastic and I had a great time. The food was also very nice. and even though the rooms needed updating, I still had a great time.
p.s. thanks so much to all the staff at the hotel from matt g. i am sure you will all remember me! i think about you all a lot and will come back soon, you put the biggest smile ive ever had on my face! i would reccommend this hotel to anyone.

Historical Traveller Reviews of Stratford Manor Hotel

Great for families

from BelindaEngland
Having stayed at this hotel three times, I can honestly say we had nothing but good experiences. It is often hard to find somewhere to stay that accomodates the needs of parents and is still open minded and friendly towards young children. The rooms are clean and spacious. The staff friendly - yes you may find the odd one that has a grumpy face on..but we are all human. We have not yet tried out the swiming pool, but sure will give it a try, the next time we are staying over. The proximity to Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon makes it an excellent choice and there are plenty of exciting childrens activities a short drive away. The restaurant is renowend for excellent food, though the atmosphere not appropriate for parents with young children and the prices a bit to steep, if you can not enjoy it peacefully. We therefore always opted to eat in the bar/lounge area or outside the hotel. Otherwise so far a great hotel to stay with plenty of space.

Great place to stay near Stratford

from savvyttraveller
We stayed here for an overnight stop, choosing it for it's closeness to Stratford-upon Avon and Warwick, thinking we would do some sightseeing the next day.
Hotel is situated between both towns so a car is necessary. Plenty of free parking available. (note - many hotels in Stratford charge for parking)
The hotel is spacious, clean, modern with a nice pool and leisure facilities. The restaurant is excellent - obviously very popular as we have never seen such a busy hotel restaurant before. Food was delicious, well presented and not too expensive. All starters are £5.50 and all mains are £15.50 and all puds are £5.50 - with a couple of things an extra pound or two.
Breakfast was included in our room rate (got a good deal on Hotelclub. com). Lots of choice from the buffet and nice and hot.
All staff were friendly and helpful in the restaurant and at reception.
We had a standard room which was plenty big enough, with 2 armchairs, flatscreen TV on wall, tea & coffee bar, comfy bed. The room and bathroom were very clean and nicely decorated.
Couldn't fault anything at all..........
except the weather the next morning. Sightseeing was a drive round instead of a walk round as it was pouring with rain!!

I booked the hotel for my fiances birthday and was appalled at the service. We didn't check in until 5pm but still had to wait 20 mins until the room was ready. After 5 mins our afternoon tea arrived, cold and with no clotted cream for the scones even though this is wat
makes them so indulgent! The price was also higher than stated in the email reference given.

As we were staying in a deluxe room we had a fruit basket which was growing mould which put us off eating at the hotel and we opted to eat out.

As two adults sharing a room we were only given 3 pieces of cold toast to share for breaksfast and were hungry again by 11am!

Would not recommend in a hurry the only upside is the fountain in the
car park!

Pleasantly Surprised

from JaySeeRoamin
Upon booking this two day stay (Fri & Sat night) I was a little dubious due to the low price (£120 for two adults, two nights with breakfast)
Well, it was great ! The room was large, clean and comfortable. Good facilities - flat screen TV, excellent lighting in the room and bathroom, tea & coffee etc, One moan is that it was £9.99 for 24 hours internet access!! (but at least they had it and it worked)
Good variety at breakfast - cooked choice was hot and generous - quickly seated and served. Staff were approachable and helpful.
Would definitely stay again. Recommended.

Superb staff

from Platformsoul
Looks like a 70's hotel that has been refurbished nicely and in a modern style. Very clean and bright.

The staff are exceptionally good. Attentive without getting in the way, pleasent and helpful.

I booked a corperate event for 16 delegates and they had every single detail covered.

Fabulous hotel and service!

from jobehappy
We booked a two night break through the main Q hotels booking line. Our deal was fabulous, paying £149 for two nights, including breakfast for adults and dinner for adults for one of the nights. The booking line said breakfast was included for both children too, which was incorrect, although on check out the hotel honoured this, as it was what we had been told.

The hotel is about three miles from Stratford. We were able to park for free in the sister hotel, the Stratford Victoria which was only a five minute walk into the town.

Check-in was great and swift. Staff were friendly and had information at their fingertips eg maps, timings of meals etc.

Our room was not huge, though adequate in size. It had a double bed and two single beds for the children. It was good to get proper beds for the children, rather than the z-bed, put-you-ups which so often are in hotels. There was a flat screen large tv, lovely bathroom, clean and fresh and the room had clearly been part of the million pound upgrade which the hotel had recently been part of.

The grounds were fantastic and we enjoyed the firework display that evening which was part of the wedding celebrations on that day.

Breakfasts were hot and plentiful, with choices of cereal, cold meats, cheeses, melon, other fruits, croissants etc. The hot breakfast was just that, hot! I am less than tolerant of warm food and must say all of the food we had at the hotel was hot! The staff tried hard to engage with the children and a particularly helpful waiter, Johnathan, was noted on our evaluation sheet as we left at the end of our trip. On request families could eat earlier, from 6pm, which would suit families with younger children than ours. Seating in the restaurant was sensitive and spaced out. There is nothing worse than feeling hemmed in and squashed up!

The evening meal was lovely, although the steak undercooked. This was quickly remedied and tasted delicious. The menu was varied and the children's menu particularly good, featuring jacket potato and cheese, beans on toast and other more adult meals such as chicken breast etc etc.

Leisure facilities were great, except fot the lack of a warning sign for the steep slope in the pool when the depth changed from 0.9m to 1.5m. We did feed this back, so make sure you are aware of this.

All in all a great weekend and definitely would go again.

A refreshing break with good personal and reassuring service

from Orable
Visited the Hotel the weekend of May Friday 13th (2007) a special day as it was my son's first birthday. We celebrated his Birthday with family the weekend before and needed to getaway for ome light relief. Stratford Manor was perfect for this. We chose the hotel because they had a swimming pool and the executive rooms had refrigerators in them (i.e. for Son's food and milk) - and that it was reasonable priced. The staff were lovely, especially in reception, we couldn't use the resturant as it was open after 7pm and our son went to sleep at 7pm - and the room service menu was not exactly desirable. The room were very spacious and comfortable (only complaint on the room was it was too hot as no a/c). The swimming pool was well kept and not that busy.

On the whole an excellent stay and would recommend and return without hesitation. However would encourage the hotel to install an A/C system. We were informed that as QHotels had recently aquired the hotel there are to be many improvements.

A visit to Stratford-Upon-Avon is made a little easier as we culd park our car at their sister hotel - Stratford Victoria.

Very enjoyable stay

from suzyb1
We have just returned from spending 3 nights at the Hotel to see in the New Year. We chose the hotel because there were very few that allowed children. The staff were lovely, especially in the restaurant, the food was excellent, the room very spacious and comfortable (only complaint on the room was it was too hot). We used all the facilities i.e. swimming pool, spa and gym. The Gala Dinner on New Years Eve was excellent and very well organised.

On the whole an excellent stay and would recommend and return without hesitation.

PS Warwick Castle and Stratford well worth a visit.

from Sherwoodnotts
We have just returned from a 3 day break celebrating the new year. We had a lovely time. Rooms, food and staff excellent. We all enjoyed the new year gala evening followed by a very nice breakfast/brunch the next day.

Our only negative comment would be that it perhaps needs a little re-decoration in corridors and swimming pool. Gym kitted out very well.

Absolutely dreadful

from amonty1144
This hotel is part of the Marston group of hotels, having stayed at others that were excellent we decided to give this a try. It was appalling from start to finish. On entering the reception to check in, I was asked to pay upfront as I was paying cash. It didn't get much better, the pool was closed and no-one bothered to say. The room was ok but hardly luxurious, very corporate and more suited to businessman , than a break away. the hotel bar is remiscent of an airport departure lounge. It is cold, draughty , with no atmosphere and you have to sell a kideny to buy a class of wine.We had a dinner bed and breakfast rate of £141, which included two courses. The starters were miniscule, 3 scallops for one and 4 prawns on sticks for the other. The main courses were dreadful, my husband ordered one meal and got a different one. This was not a mistake they had run out of his order and decided to give him something else without asking him. The restaurant manager took my complaint but was abrassive and ultimately dismissive. the table next to us was also complaining. He said he would have the cost taken off the bill, but didn't bother and I had to do this the following morning on checking out. The reception staff were not pleased to be deducting money from the bill and made me feel that I was complaining unnecessarily. The beds are hard and uncomfortable.
Avoid this hotel.
