My husband and I travelled down to Cornwall from London for the first time over the Easter period and have found ourselves a lovely B&B that we would love to return to year after year. The Tregorran is in Carbis Bay and is a short and beautiful walk from the busy town of St Ives. We had a room with a gorgeous view that was always kept clean and stocked up with tea and coffee. Breakfast is just what you expect from a good B&B; a wide selection that varies from day to day that is always more than enough to keep you full for the morning's activities! The staff are friendly and will always go out of their way to make you feel at home or to help you in any way. The bar/lounge area is cosy and a perfect place to relax in the evening and to meet the other guests staying at the hotel.
All in all, great staff, great food....great place!

We have been staying at the Tregorran for the last ten years. The first time it was just my husband and I and at the time, we thought what an ideal place it would be to bring the grandchildren for family holidays. Since then we have returned every year with our three grandchildren because we all thoroughly enjoy the wonderful atmosphere.
We have met several other families who have stayed there regularly. The decking area (which has a fantastic view of St. Ives and the surrounding coastline) is the ideal place to sit and chat with other parents/grandparents while the children are playing in the pool with other children and sometimes with the proprietorâs children, who are always polite and well behaved.
The Tregorran is child-friendly and Russell and Lee Nee go out of their way to make you feel at home and nothing is too much trouble for them or their staff, who are friendly and helpful at all times. Our sea-view family room on two levels is always kept spotlessly clean and well stocked with tea, coffee, milk etc. and the beds are comfortable. There is plenty of room for parking and there is a good breakfast menu, which varies from day to day. There is a friendly bar/lounge where you can have a relaxing drink in the evening.
Carbis Bay has a beautiful safe beach and it is ideal for swimming and bodyboarding because the surf is not too rough, unlike some of the other bays on the Atlantic coast. There are plenty of places to eat out in Carbis Bay or nearby St. Ives and the surrounding areas. There are plenty of activities for the children and adults, i.e. Flambards, Maize Maize, Self drive boats from St. Ives to mention but a few.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our holidays at the Tregorran and are booked in for August 2009 and we are all looking forward to it!
A big thank you to Russell and Lee Nee for making us feel at home for so many years.

The only positive about this hotel is the views. It has wonderful views over carbis bay/st.ives. However it is a good 45mins walk via costal path to get to st ives (not advisable at night). Also the rooms need a serious refurbishment. Small and very 70s decor along with wafer-thin walls and poor plumbing makes the nights a little hard to deal with. Ok if you want a single night stopover for the views, but for any longer I would suggest closer to a town or even a restaurant/pub for evening food.
