The place is fronted by a Kevin Turvey type character from Birmingham with Blackpool Landlady tendancies!. Accomodation is newish and OK! if you like cheap flat pack furniture; the place is clean and tidy.
However,this establishment feels like it is run for the benefit of the owners and not the customer.The room was cramped and the view non-existant- The slick Web-site really does oversell the "hotels" offering. Breakfast is totally geared for the kitchen staff with strict timings and the infuriating request everyday to place ones order for the next morning before one has taken the last slurp of tea.On one occasion my request for poached eggs was met with "sorry they take to long,we don't have time cook them - What!!!!Also, Stay away from the bar unless you wish to be cured from insomnia. An otherwise great holiday spoilt by an infuriating little man and overpriced accommodation.I would advice Joseph and Mary to stay firmly put in the Manger.

The place to remind your days at University student halls... Remember the porter making sure everyone follows the rules? The only difference is that people come here for a relaxing break. People running the Nook believed it was a great idea to use the harmonic Hoover to clean the place at 10:00am Saturday morningÂ…. No need to mention that if you don't leave your room by 10am it doesn't get cleaned. Breakfast is served within about a 30mins window space, so, you can choose at your leisure at what time to have it...

On Sunday, after being feeling unwell on Saturday evening, we did the terrible mistake of oversleeping for 30 minutes past the easy going 10am check out time... I believe that our door was knocked and shouted about 6 times from 10:30 to 11:00am that we left the room. As an special bonus the sweet chubby lady running the hotel though it was a great idea to give a kind shoulder push to my girlfriend to direct her towards the door exit... charming experience!

Moreover, this is probably one of the very few hotels without a decent view of St Ives.

Return Trips Good idea to get a cab to St Erth on your way back as if anything goes wrong with the timings of the train from St Ives to St Erth and you miss your connecting train eg to London you will probably not be able to travel on the next train re ticket restrictions and possibly have a long wait.

Sloop Inn On a Winter's afternoon I recommend the Sloop (14th Century Inn) by the harbour. Lovely roaring fire and view of the harbour. The Lifeboat Inn was also a nice pub with a fantastic view.
