My husband and I aren't easily impressed, yet we were overwhelmed by the amount of positive things we felt about the hotel.
The price is incredibly under-charged for the quality of the establishment and in particular the rooms.
We stayed in the cottage by the lake but after making friends with a dear couple we met on the first night, I got to see their room when calling on them for dinner. Their room was just as beautiful as ours. Situated on the top floor, it boasted exposed beams and brickwork and impressive period furniture among many other aspects.
The quality of the food and the service was second to none and I would definetely recommend the duck and for dessert, the profiteroles. I know they don't sound particularly adventurous but they were really a delightful contribution to my overall meal.
The service was excellent. All the waitress' were presented smartly and never faltered. One particular beautiful, young lady, on taking our dessert order smiled sweetly to us and inquired about our stay. I instantly took a shine to her and couldn't help but plead my husband to give her a generous tip at the end of the stay.
The location and presentation of the hotel added to it's congenial and welcoming charm.
After staying for only three nights, I realised that this was probably the most enjoyable english hotel i had ever visted. I was shocked to realise that the hotel had three stars as i was expecting at least four. I felt some incredible injustice when i looked at our bill statement and saw the three little stars and our price. They really sould be charging more for making both my husband and i and our friends terribly happy. Charming, picturesque and steeped in traditional atmospheric sincerity. Thank you Loftsome Bridge Hotel for such an enjoyable experience.
