A warning to anyone who has booked a room at the Clifton Hotel - cancel it now. Worst hotel and room we have ever stayed in. Dirty room, unwashed sheets, disgusting bathroom, muck and filth everywhere. Be warned, they ask for your money on check - in - ask to see your room first and don't be conned like we were! Don't ever want to go there ever again.

A tacky rundown doss house

This hotel is overpriced, rundown and in need of a complete room re-furb. The room we had was shoddy and in need of painting and decorating. The paint was peeling the ceiling in the bathroom had a hole in it that had been blocked up with toilet paper. The carpet was thread bare and coverd with stains. We went as part of a party and all the rooms we had were just as bad. One family in our party had paid extra for a better class of room with a sea view but this room was no better than any of the others. We heard other people in the hotel complaining about the standard of the rooms aswell. From the minute we arrived to leaving we were disappointed with the whole experience the food at breakfast was tasteless and we had to wait for glasses, milk, cereals and fruit juice. WE WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THAT PLACE AGAIN!!
