My sister and I did a coach holiday with Shearings to their New Southlands hotel. This is one hotel that we cannot fault in anyway, and we have been to many. So we would like to congratulate every one concerned. Daniel Defoe did the evening entertainment, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you for a brilliant week.

We had a nice break. The stsff was very nice, food was good, the room was very clean. Te entertinment was very good. I need to mention Daniel Defoe - he was just great entertainment and so helpful. We will be visiting again.

We enjoyed everything about our visit to this hotel. In particular the variety of entertainment on all three evenings. Hope to visit again. The value of a January break was much appreciated.

After reading the the other reviews, I was expecting something special and I was not disappointed. Everything was 100% staff, food, entertainment, cleanliness. I must mention Daniel Defoe who kept everything bubbling especially on New Years eve.

First class service, very enjoyable weekend, good entertainment artists' and very good food, would definately go to New Southlands Hotel in Scarbough again...

My husband and I spent our first WA Shearings holiday in the New Southlands Hotel this month. Our room was bright, clean and comfortable, the staff very helpful and courteous, the waitress service excellent and the food delicious. The evening entertainment was also excellent and varied. A very welcome break during the witer months!

We have just enjoyed an excellent weekend at the Southlands. Great food,very comfortable rooms & all the staff were efficient & friendly. Good entertainment suitable for most ages. Very good value and good location

Very nice hotel

We booked this break through WA Shearings and, though we had some difficulty finding the hotel, when we arrived we were pleased with the spacious room for my husband,adult daughter and myself. The bathroom was excellent and the room was clean and pleasant.The hotel is nicely decorated in an Egyptian theme and staff were very friendly. There was some waiting between corses at dinner and perhaps the hotel could use more waitresses, but the meals were good.Entertainment is more for older people, as is usual with Shearings, but very enjoyable. Scarborough itself is full of attractions but if you have mobility problems as i have you may need to drive into the centre of the toen, or get a bus or taxi.All in all an enjoyable break and extremely good value for money. This hotel deserves a higher rating.

A great location on West Cliff. Bedrooms very hot (but there was a heat wave) Food good and staff very friendly Good value for money

After staying at Windermere hotel [same group] found this to be disappointing. Room was dusty and not left tea and coffee making things on a number of days. Generally poor.
