We were given the keys to our room (room 9), be prepared, this room is at the back of the hotel and doesnt have a good view, we arrived in June and 23 degrees celtigrade outside, it was barely 16 degrees in this room, and felt cold. The twin beds must have been two thirds size and are not suitable for anyone over 5ft 10ins.
We asked what other rooms were available and were given room 11 on the front of the hotel, (and had to pay the extra for the privelidge), the room is of a good size, and has a great view, but the 'bathroom' and I use that word loosely is tiny and poky.
Dinner is at 6pm PROMPT as chef doesnt like you late (we ate out) and drinks (alcoholic and non alcoholic) are available up to 10pm only, and not during 530pm and 7pm as isnt anyone available (unless you dine in)
The hotel tries to be contemporary and modern, but is vastly overpriced for what it is essentially a refurbished b&b establishment. At £50 per person per night, it isnt cheap and just doesnt deliver.

It was a very good idea to use the bar and entertainment facilities just a few doors away which were open to the early hours leaving the hotel very tranquil and quiet.
The hotel proprietor and staff were available throughout and were very obliging and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and we got to know all the other guests as well which was very nice.
I have recommended the Mansion House Hotel to all my friends and we will certainly return very soon.
Thank again for a great New Years break.

Top Local Tips for Scarborough
Amazing value boat trips round the bay We loved Scarborough, and the cheapest "attraction" (we think it was £3.50 each) was a boat trip in an old fishing vessel right round the North Bay. The weather was appalling (cold, windy and wet), and the boat is VERY no frills, but it was fantastic - lasted a couple of hours, and we think we might have had the best cup of coffee ever on that boat (though, to be fair, it was warm and at that stage that was good enough for us!)
good italian Great food at Ask italian
evenings out If you can make a trip to the Spa or the Futurist theatre for an evening out. The shows are extremely affordable and make a lovely evening out whilst on holiday.
