Clean room, nice people but very below par breakfast - only bread and cheap cereals (We only had one mornings breakfast there and ate the other mornings in a cafe). Was cheap and cheerful but not the best b&b ive stayed in. Wasnt happy about the chipped crockery and mugs in the breakfast room either - definately needs an overhaul.

I stayed here with my daughter, friend and her son. Totally disgusting. They took my card details before we got there and was told they only accepted cash as the card machine was not working. Room was filthy and smelled musty. There is suppose be a continental breakfast. It was cheap cornflakes, diluted squash and when I went to take toast it was green and moldy. What worries me now is they have my card details and I have spent 2 hours on the phone to the bank to make sure they don’t take anything fraudently.

For £30 each !! For the night expect nothing but invisible owners, hope you never need them if a problem occurs , and the worst joke of a breakfast I have ever encountered . Dry old bread left by a toaster and diluted orange juice are about the most of it . One box of dry cereal if you can find it and a real stinker of a hotel. No bar or service to be seen . Stay anywhere but here please, my hard earned money should not be in this guys account

I'm a single parent of a teenage son and wanted a cheap holiday, but good value for my money. Looked good on the internet so booked. I arrived on time but to find noone there at first, finally got sorted. Plugged in the laptop no connection. Room was clean but very bad decor. over priced and the breakfast was minimal and basic cheap cornflakes, bread, tea. The location was good and parking was ok. It was quiet no noise but squeeky beds. Won't be there again but neighboring hotels looked lovely.

Nightmare !

My family and I left the Chatsworth 4 days early loosing money and giving up the only holiday we were having this year as it was such a nightmare the rooms our tiny unclean and unhygienic with sticky carpets and mouldy shower curtains, beds that hurt you and the children’s beds our home made creations that our only as wide as your child not allowing any movement or your child would fall out! (I say this as the parent of a small for age 7 yr old !)Breakfast was a joke 1 type of cereal, Tesco value dry bread with the best before dates removed !!Weak diluted orange squash! no staff apart from on arrival to take your cash !when in your room you felt unsafe due to the front door kept open/unlocked all night and various nomadic looking men trailing the corridors! On my hasty return to the safety of my home, I discovered money had been fraudulently taken from my bank account and is now in the hands of my banks fraud team!!! So, if your choice is staying at the Chatsworth or at home going on daytrips then please do the latter for everyone’s sake.

WE enjoyed our stay at the Chatsworth. Clean, comfortable, and reasonably priced. Yes, breakfast was not full English, but not everyone wants a fry up in the morning !! It was clean, perfectly located, and great value for money !!

I booked the hotel for my wife and 2 year old daughter as a relaxing break - as my wife is recovering from a fractured spine. On arrival I was VERY dissappointed with the standard of room. The floor had not been hoovered for a long time & the carpets were absolutely filthy (& not even fitted up to the walls). There were dead flies and old sweet wrappers on the floor . The bathroom was a joke - mould on the ceiling, dirty shower and the carpet was disgusting and filthy & the whole room had a slight smell of pee. We paid on arrival and ended up staying the first night as i got so sick i had to go to bed (probably touched something in the room !)so decided to stick it out for one night. The breakfast was buffet toast & croissants with a big plastic box of cornflakes that everyone and their mother had their hand in! We were very dissapointed at this point. We couldnt find the owner to complain about our room so as per HIS written instructions (on the kitchen door - there is no reception) we posted him a note to clean & hoover our room. 11 hours later we came back and the note was still in the box and nothing had been done. We could not have brought our daughter back to this filthy hole. We approached the owner who was very rude and said he didn't claim to have clean rooms which I pointed out it does on the website, his whole attitude was arrogant and uncaring he actually seemed to have a tantrum whilst discussing the cleanliness with us and was annoyed that he was missing a private birthday party whilst talking with us. None of the pictures on the website are a true reflection of what you are getting for your money!!!!. He offered a small discount if we didn't complain which he then withdrew when we said we OBVIOUSLY would complain. We declined the offer and drove 2 hours home at 7.30pm at night IT WAS THAT BAD. His last offer was to try and hoover the room while we went out for a while which we shouldnt have had to do. I informed the owner that even if he hoovered them for a year the fact was the carpets were in such a bad state they would still be filthy. basically what you get for your money is a filthy room, no breakfast, terrible customer service. Please take this review seriously and do not take any young children there, it is unclean and unhygenic.

Worst B&B ever!

Stayed with my wife and young baby and found the Chatsworth to be wholly inadequate. The room was dirty, cramped (even though recommended as sufficient by the management) and overlooked a neighbouring yard... no view at all. Kettle was unusable through grime and limescale and no wardrobe or storage - only bookcase (?) and a shelf for clothing. Breakfast was a joke - weak diluted Orange Juice drink, DIY Toast and... well thats it. Worst of all, we had to cut short our holiday as our baby fell ill - the management couldnt care less and refused any refund on the remaining time booked... instead offering credit note.. as if we'd ever go back!! Please stay elsewhere.. Scarborough is lovely, this place is a dump & not family friendly at all despite advertising themselves as such!

The gentleman who owns the Chatsworth seems a nice man, and it cost £60 for the family room which is a bargain, however!!! I don't think he owns a hoover, when reading about it it describes the rooms as "spotless", well I'm sorry that could not be further from the truth, the bedroom floor and the toilet floor carpets were disgusting, the bathroom ponged big time. Continental breakfast, that's a laugh! powdered orange juice, bananas and apples in a tesco bag on the windowsill to help yourself, tea tastes like dishwater, milk cartons some of them were sour, do your own toast and croissants and a massive box of Tesco cornflakes still in the box for you to help yourself, not professional at all. Just left key in hallway as he was nowhere to be found when we left. Even though he sempt a nice enough man I truly think he should look at his level of cleanliness and how he displays his breakfast, because we definately won't be recommending the Chatsworth to anyone.
