Very disappointing

Cannot put into words our disappointment at this hotel. Booked overnight with girlfriend but really wished we hadn't wasted our money and time. An odd hotel - exterior very nice but interior a real let down. Restaurant decor is tired and food really below par. Felt the food had been reheated them just slopped on the plate. No staff around after we were served our dinner & we were unable to find anyone to complain to about our meal. Our bedroom decor was ok but room was cold and bathroom small with very little hot water. There was no-one really avaible to talk to about this to and the person at reception was not really bothered. We were left with the impression that as long as we paid for out stay and meal the staff coudn't care less whether we were happy with it or not. Avoid this place like the plague if you want to actually stay somewhere that provides even a half decent standard of service.

What a dreadful hotel

We had a terrible time at this hotel. After reading a few critical reviews on other sites we hoped that it be be better than expected but we were wring. Thankfully we only stayed one night but this was the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. The food at breakfast & dinner was vile, practically inedible evening meal. Mentioned to the waitress that we were not happy with our meals but replacement was just as bad (meat was tough and tasteless and the luke warm veg tasted like frozen veg that was reheated). Staff stood talking amongst themselves while we waited at the bar and on check out the manageress was also rude (had been pleasant when we booked but obviously is only nice to customer's who do not complain. Said that they never receive complaints and always provide a top service!!) Woudld not recommend this hotel and would never stay again.

Had a great stay

Went to a friends 50th birthday and stayed overnight,,, bedroom was gorgeous,,, great big bath, enough for me and hubby to get in together...hehehe, full English breakfast was delicious,,, all in all, a lovely, clean place,, would recommend it to everyone, oh and the scenery is fab too

The staff were top-class friendly people, the location and view are unbeatable. Perfect for beachcombers and country lovers.

Stunning Hotel & Excellent Staff

My husband and I stayed at Rushpool Hall over the Easter weekend for our anniversary. We were married at the hotel in 2005 and stayed last year for our anniversary too. As always the staff were very helpful, the food was lovely and the gorgeous four poster bridal suite was very romantic. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitley recommend it.

Dreadful Hotel

We stayed at the hotel for New Year's Eve and had booked dinner but all I can say is never again...To name but a few points, there was no hot water in hotel when we got there. We enquired & were told it would be back on in 10 minutes but it was not actually on until next day so were unable to shower prior to dinner. Dinner itself was inedible. So called 'fillet' steak was so stringy & tough we could not cut into it. When we mentioned this to waiter we were not offered an alternative dish or even other steak so were only actually able to eat the vegetables. Next day the shower in our room was broken so we were unable to shower at all thoughout our stay. We mentioned these things and others points to reception staff at check out but were told to write in as there was no-one available to discuss it with. We did so but the reply letter we received from the manager discredited our points, stating that no-one else had complained (even though we saw 2 other couples complaining when we were at reception.) Also the manager stated in the letter that the Hotel staff had actually eaten the returned steaks themselves and thought they were delicious!! Be warned...DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!

Disappointing

We had looked forward to an enjoyable evening & overnight stay on New Years Eve but to say we were disappointed is putting it mildly. The Hotel had no hot water until the next day & we were not told this until we attempted to take a shower prior to dinner but had to phone reception to find out what was happening (also we were told it would be on in 10 minutes but it didn't come back on that night). The fact that there was a problem with hot water may have been unavoidable and just 'one of those things' but it was the unprofessional manner of staff that was disappointing. No information was provided without us having to ask and we were given no update. The meal was not very nice and the steak was fatty. Again the staff were not bothered and did not offer any alternatives. In all, our stay was overpriced for the standard of room/meal offered and the problems that arose were not addressed by staff. When complaints were made nothing was done to compensate for these mishaps. Several others were complaining at reception but again, staff did not seem to be that bothered. It would seem that as the bill for the room and meal had already been paid prior to the stay, management were not concerned about the many problems that occurred for guests. We were given the impression that as the hot water was back on the following morning we should be grateful. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone & would not stay there again.
