I actually first stayed at Claxton Hotel when on a course at Teeside in 2000.Ever since,I have made the hotel my preferred destination whenever I am in the area.The friendly atmosphere,caring staff and excellent service made me to lodge in the hotel again and again and again.
The ambience of the location makes it a destination of choice especially the view of the sea.
Keep the fag flying folks.I am on my way again to The Claxton Hotel in 2010.

I LOVE THIS HOTEL ME AND MY FAMILY GO AT LEAST TWICE A YEAR WHEN WE VISIT OUR FAMILY,THE OWNERS AND STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY,THE ROOMS ARE CLEAN, BREAKFAST IS VERY GOOD,WE HIGHLY RECOMEND YOU TRY IT FOR YOURSELFS.

I'm just glad this hotel was not any more expensive. The room we were in was tiny, the beds are those extremely cheap ones you get usually for kids, and there was only 1 pillow on each of the 2 singles in our room. The water pressure for the shower was awful too. The decor is somewhat dated, to say the least. The place looked clean on the surface but the longer we were there the dirtier it seemed to be. Breakfast was awful, watered down fruit juice, salty over cooked bacon and crispy eggs were served on the first morning, needless to say I only had scrambled egg on the second morning and even that wasn't very good, over cooked and not seasoned in any way. As for the staff, I could not fault them, they were efficient and polite at all times. This place is ok for one overnight stop I suppose, but I will not be returning in a hurry.

Very friendly staff, happy atmosphere, well looked after. Room was large, clean and comfortable with wonderful sea views. There was ample parking.
