Just returned from a two day break.The hotel is set amongst Englands finest scenery on the shores of Lake Ulleswater,an area in the north of England known for its spectacular beauty.The hotel was built over two hundred years ago,as a result benefits from large public rooms.The bedroom my wife and I had was of grand proportions and had all modern facillities with lake front views.The hotel was well run with friendly willing staff. We noticed that the waiters some of which had come from South Africa were very professional.The lunch time bar menue was very reasonably priced with snacks sandwitches etc.The restaurant food was good but nothing special.The coffee was very very bad,If you are looking for a relaxing break in a clean well run reasonably priced hotel (Look out for special offers-this break I was on was one of the same)then I would recommend this hotel. Please note this is only my opinion of the time we spent at this hotel.
