we (retired couple) stayed at the palace hotel in April of this year (2009)on a weekend break.Could not fault the place. We had a very nice room with an extensive sea view. The room was spotlessly clean as was the hotel altogether. The staff were very pleasant, helpful and friendly. Food was also very good with both buffet (for cereals and juice)and waiter service breakfast (choice of full english, kippers etc.) Evening meal was also very good - waiter service with a choice of half a dozen starters and sweets, and the main course generally offered either red or white meat, fish or vegetarian dishes. evening entertainment was also quite good. parking facilities excellent - plenty of space all on the level and secure.
level walk to the seafront(about 50 yards) and town centre. We are looking forward to returning in the autumn (after the 'silly season')and will not consider staying anywhere else. We would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed at the Palace in Nov 2007. From the start, we were made so welcome what with all the refurbishment that was going on was great. We stayed for four nights and loved it so much, we are back on the tenth of Nov 2008 and look forward to meeting all the staff and having a super Tinsel and Turkey.

Stayed for the second time. Located on the front. Large car park, friendly reception staff. Good service nice meals, varied entertainment, bar pool table. Food excellent, served at breakfast and dinner, feels like a holiday. Swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna below. 5 mins walk to shops and train station to Dartmouth. Very enjoyable will be going in April 2007.
