Great disappointment
We booked a suite at the Headland Hotel expecting 4 star pampering with a sea view room. However, the sea view was only possible when one stood at the window in between the eves and looked out of the salt splattered window. The definition of a suite consisted of two mismatching 1970's armchairs and a modern fake wall hanging fire place. The rooms are described as quirky and they most certainly met this criteria in abundance. The communal areas were vast which made the lack of lighting and dirty seating even more noticable. There is a distinct lack of staff in these communal areas, however when you do find staff, don't ask for anything out of the ordinary as we overheard the staff making uncomplementary comments about the other guests when requesting what we considered a fairly standard level of service. The dinning area is vast and whilst the food was of a good standard the whole affair was lacking due to few guests and little atmosphere.
