When I opened the front door I should have turned around, I was met by a 'not nice' smell. Sign at the top of the first few stairs was another clue very tatty with chipped edges, reception desk shabby and cluttered. Everywhere chipped paint and looked tatty. TV didn't work when this sorted out the control didn't work asked for battery but non available but 'use the buttons on the tv' was the advice, this is not the point. On a positive note, bed linen spotless (I checked as soon as I got to my room)also bathroom spotless, they obviously have very good housekeepers. Breakfast adequate, but breakfast room 'bleak'.

Turned up late, if had had a choice would have turned round and left. Heating was on full and couldnt be turned off, TV was on an ariel boost - only one channel worked, Bed had plastic undersheet, shower walls were dirty. But, breakfast was OK, a bit greasy and the staff were nice.
