Fantastic food, lovely accommodation

We stayed here for a long weekend in March. Our first impression when we pulled up in the car park, made us a little uncertain of what it was going to be like. However as soon as we stepped into the reception area and met a very warm and friendly member of staff, our impression changed. The decor is fresh, modern and tasteful and gave a pleasant atmosphere, complemented by a relaxing scented aroma.

The room had lovely sea views, very pleasant and clean and a nice modern bathroom. The lounge/bar area is again tastefully decorated and furnished very nicely with several comfortable leather sofas. It leads onto an outside terrace that overlooks St Michael's Mount which is also a great place to watch the sunset and have a drink or to. The staff are brilliant, warm and friendly and really make you feel looked after. The restaurant downstairs has a classy feel to it and the food was absolutely delicious.

Would definitely recommend anyone looking for a nice, relaxing or even romantic weekend, to stay here.

Top Local Tips for Marazion

This is England! Don't be going to places like this out of season and expecting good weather and all the attractions to be open. We heard people with small families asking what there was to do to keep the children entertained - it was February, raining horizontal and blowing a gale. Hey, it was forecast well before hand, and a visit to the Tourist information web sites or even ringing them or writing if you are not on a computor before you consider a holiday here could save the screaming tantrums and even more hassled parents. Plus, winter in Cornwall is when the roadworks are done and the attractions get refurbished out of season - come on, it 'aint rocket science folks.

Taxis and busses Jolly Roger taxis is a small family bussiness that is friendly and informative. There is a good bus service from penzance to many destinations.

Be prepared Bring warm clothing and wet weather gear in the autumn!
