| Failed to meet expectations |
| After upgrading to a superior room, it makes me wonder what the standard rooms are like. I think it is hoped the modern decor will detract from what is a small room. In honesty the TV was the best quality item, but the rest could have been supplied by Ikea. I particularly disliked the open plan washing/dress area that directly stood in the path of the huge plate glass window, or anyone else in your room.
Without a car park and a trudge with luggage, there are better hotels, with more luxurious surroundings in Manchester than this, especially as I had booked 4 upgraded king rooms for staff and myself. What extra did that get me? a bathrobe?
Breakfast was rushed and packed, even early on, I had to chase a waiter to get some tea and coffee, it took so long my breakfast was finished when the drinks arrived.
Best thing about the hotel was the most helpful young porter, who was polite and very courteous with the luggage, as their isn't a car park, but, if you know the one way system, there is a loading/off load bay at the side of the hotel.
Not a hotel, more an impersonal place to sleep in the city centre, without a car park. Not impressed at all for some modern glass design, free internet access (what decent hotel doesn't offer that?)and a good tv, not value for money. |
