Stayed for a night and it was fantastic. Clean, modern, cool and quiet. Checkout and breakfast til 12 was a real result. The location is brilliant too.
Value for Money
from Fondofgoodtravel
For £60 per night including breakfast, the Ibis represents good value. It is clean, functional and absolutely fine for a brief stay. Given that is across the road from the office I was due to have my meeting in, it was also convenient.
When spending £60 on hotel accommodation, it would be unreasonable to expect too much. My priorities would be cleanliness, a private bathroom, good location, 4 walls and a roof and decent bed! With the Ibis you get these things plus tea and coffee making facilities and air conditiioning which during the hottest week of the year so far, was extremely welcome. I believe air conditioning is not always available at hotels that charge more. I stayed at the Princess on Portland Street a few weeks ago and that cost £20 more with no breakfast and a baking hot room.
All in all, with the Ibis you certainly get a little bit more than what you pay for so I am more than happy to stay with them again. If I was looking for a luxurious stay, then I would have to be prepared to increase my budget!

Stayed here alone for a few nights in June and couldn't fault hotel on its location, or service. The buffet breakfast was first class. I ate in a lovely Thai restaurant around the corner and it was only £2 for a taxi from the station. I probably could have walked if I'd known where I was going. I loved Manchester, it was my first time there and will return again.
Lovely hotel

We chose this hotel as we wanted a fairly cheap city centre hotel to stay in for a night out in Manchester. We weren't disappointed. It is in a very central location, only about 5-10mins walk from Manchester Piccadily station and very close to all of the shops, bars and restaurants.
The rooms are very bright, modern and clean, as was the bathroom. We had a room at the front of the hotel that faced onto the main road, but we had the window closed at night and could not hear any outside noise from the road. It is an ideal hotel if you are in Manchester for a leisure visit and I would recommend it to anyone. It's very good value for money.

Due to flight time, arrived at hotel at 11am - and was very impressed that they had a room ready for us, as check in is normally well into the afternoon.
Location of hotel is excellent, only 5 - 10 minute walk to City Centre and Picadilly station and tram stops.
Hotel room was good sized and clean, although fixtures and fittings are very basic and pretty sparse - bathroom is literally slotted into the corner of the main room, but is more than adequate with a really powerful, hot shower.
As this is a budget hotel, and with its close proximity to the City centre it seems to attract groups of hens and stags - which did not prove too much of a problem until 4am on the second night when they appeared unable to find their own rooms and wandered the corridors shouting and screaming for what seemed like hours - so do be prepared for some noise if you stay on a weekend!
Only other disappointing aspect of an otherwise great hotel was both lifts being out of action for the majority of the weekend - resulting in 12 flights of stairs to our room on the 4th floor.

Excellent balue for money

I always stay here when in Manchester. Excellent budget hotel in very central location. Quite comfortable compared to other budget brands. Staff well-mannered and keen to please. Good breakfast for £4.95. Parking garage underneath. Wi-fi. 24-hour coffee shop. Bar with pub prices. China Town in next block - some of the best Chinese cooking in the UK. Overall it's a good deal.
A good night sleep.

stayed there overnight as I had to attend a conference the next day. Excellent service. Rooms were adequate for the price. I had a room on the top floor at the back becuase I wanted a quiet night and I slept like a baby!
Excellent budget hotel

In Manchester for two nights, we decided to save money on accommodation and spend it on shopping and meals out instead... Good choice. The Ibis is an excellent no-frills modern hotel. Central location, basic but very clean and comfortable room. The "bathroom", which was a self-contained unit fitted into the corner of the room, was not really a room and it contained a shower, not a bath. It was small, but functional and the shower was great.
Breakfast was good. A French-style breakfast (bread, croissants, yogurt etc but no sausages or bacon) would not be to everybody's liking but I enjoyed it. The bread was very fresh and I felt it was much better than toast and fried eggs that have been sitting under a warmer for hours on end.
The bar was open late and snacks were available. What I liked best about the restaurant/bar was its location beside reception, looking out on to the street, so that you could watch the world go by!
Although we had ordered some extras such as items from the bar, the bill was added up correctly when we checked out, which is rare in my experience of hotels.
So if what you're looking for is a no-frills bed for the night in a central Manchester location, I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

Fab hotel!

I was a little apprehensive about staying at this hotel given some of the previous reviews, but it was completely unfounded. My friend and I stayed here for 1 night as we were going to a concert at the MEN arena, it was a good decision. The room was basic, but clean, and had everything we needed, own shower toilet, sink, tv with satellite channels, tea/coffee making facilities, and a comfy bed. Although we overlooked the main road, it was still quiet all night. The staff on reception and on the bar in the evening were friendly and helpful. There is food served 24 hours which at midnight we were grateful for, and we could take it up to our room or eat it in the restaurant. The prices for food and drink were very reasonable as well. The hotel is very handily located for everything, Chinatown is literally just around the corner, the bus station and train station are just minutes away, as are the main shopping area, and even the MEN arena was only a short taxi journey which we could have walked if we had known our way around a bit more. All in all an excellent value stay, I would recommend it to anyone and will definately stay here if I visit Manchester again.
A Great Place to Stay
from A TripAdvisor Member
Excellent hotel, room was clean, tidy, very comfortable. Bathroom really clean. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast (not included in the price of the room, although was very cheap at £4.95 pp) was fantastic. Overall it made our stay in Manchester a truly great one, would stay here again. Only thing I would say to anyone staying here would be to ask for a room at the rear of the hotel, we stayed over a weekend, had a room at the front of the hotel and there is a night club opposite which tends to be a little noisy when people are leaving, consequently we had our sleep disturbed. But apart from that we found this to be a first class hotel.
