Room was cramped with plastic wood. Lights were very low wattage fluourescent bulbs not bright enough for reading or a feeling of cheerfulness in the room. We arrived on a hot day and the A/C had not been turned on. Internet cost 15 pounds (almost $30) for 24 hours. The room cost 145 pounds, not counting the internet charge. This was our 13th night in the UK and Ireland so were used to prevailing hotel rates. This was the worst value of the trip and the most depressing Hilton room I've ever stayed in. Hard to believe this Hilton is in the same chain as the great Hilton in Belfast or the great Conrad in Dublin. Not to hard to believe that our first choice SAS Radisson at the Manchester Airport was sold out while this one was not. This is an airport gotcha bad deal. Hilton should be ashamed. Usually I find myself in agreement with most tripadvisor reviewers, but on this one I dissent vigorously. I have ranked this terrible compared to other hotels in its price range and chain, not on an absolute scale.

Nice Start To Holiday

We were greated at the gate by a disgruntled customer who was handing out leaflets telling of his ordeal. The police shortly arrived to move him on.

The hotel was lovely - nice rooms, nice bar area. Very close to the airport with shuttles to the terminals rather than just the station.

Only bad point was the £9 parking for the night - this should be free for paying guests.

relaxing start to your holiday!

I stayed over night in the Hilton hotel on 4th March as I had early check -in at the airport. I must say the Hilton lives up to its name!! Once I entered into hotel foyer: it was very spacious and remarkably quiet even though it was only 5 mins away from Manchester airport. Once I checked in - I found my hotel room to be spacious and spotless. Everything looked very neat and tidy and I was impressed with the toiletries and care that had been taken in presentation of the room. There was a game console pad although I must admit I didn't know where the console is - did you have to hire form reception? Anyways I wasn't too bothered about the game console as I didn't need that to entertain me!

Once downstairs you'll find the restuarant/bar area - on the internet, the Hilton Manchester airport is shown to have two restaurants/bars - I only found one which was Lowrey's but I found that to be adequate for what I wanted. The staff are always friendly although I must admit the bar staff had a strong accent, not sure if it was Welsh? but he always had a smile and was courteous.

Prices - hmm ok so I was staying in the Hilton hotel, but you must remember that you are paying for a name and to be honest - the Hilton was worth it! Drinks were reasonably priced - I've paid more in a normal bar so Hilton bar prices were moderate in comparison - £4.50 for two non-alcoholic drinks. Whilst sitting in the bar area, I asked if they had a menu of the evening meals - as mentioned before, you pay for quality. I chose the set meal for £28.95, but because I had got the "early bird deal" I got 25% reduced off my bill and all drinks ordered with the meal had 10% off - not bad! The food in Hilton hotel is delicious!!! Once you'ld chosen your main course, you could help yourself to starters which were laid out in front of you! Ok so I would have gone back for seconds on the starters - but I felt it was best I left some room for my main course and also dessert which were also laid on the table for you to see!

The hotel is relatively quiet, you get the odd noisy neighbour but you soon drift off to sleep.

At check out theres always a friendly face - even at 4:30 in the morning and the transfer coach picked me for the airport, transfer run every 30minutes but you don't notice as it's such a quick service.

All in all Hilton hotel is worth a stay over if you have a early flight or a bit of luxury, I would definately stay again!

Lovely hotel

We stayed at the Hilton before our flight to Salzburg in february. We had stayed at the Radisson in August and were alittle worried about it being a bit of a come down!
We couldn't have been more wrong.
The service was excellent - the staff professional, friendly and efficient.
We chose not to eat in the restaurant (have been warned that its quite pricey) and had room service instead. The quality of the food, the service and the presentation was faultless. We chose lasagne and it was excellent - the accompanying side salad was the best I've ever tasted! An excellent meal and though we paid £15 it compared very very favourably with a similar meal purchased in a restaurant at a similar price. It was a veyr large meal - excellent quality. (The staff who brought it to us and collected were extremely polite and friendly). Though we did not purchase a drink with our meal they provided iced water for us - may not sound special, but this was not at our request, and along side the flowers on the tray it gave those little 'finishing touches' that makes you think its a quality hotel (if you get our drift!!!).
The room was lovely - very quiet, very comfortable - air conditioned and with everything you'd need.
We paid for 8 days parking as well - we dropped the car off at the hotel carpark and it was waiting for us when we got back. NO stress at all!
The hotel shuttle service to the terminal was excellent - very regular, and again very professional.
We plan to use the Radisson next August for our summer holiday as it is an earlier flight an dit is closer to terminal 2 - but we will not hesitate to book the Hilton again in the future. As a result of our stay here we will use the Hilton in Birmingam for our holiday next February!

First Class Service

from ilovefloridaUk
What a delightful time myself and family had on our recent visit to the Hilton. I have cruised several times and rate the service in this hotel as good as the service I've received on a cruise ship. From check-in to departure there was nothing too much bother. The staff always eager to please. The food was amazing. The rooms very adequate, clean, warm and very quiet - surprising as we were so close to the airport. A two minute walk to the railway station, although the hotel also supplied a coach to and from the station and the airport. Helen and Ayldin in the restaurant were excellent as was Rafal the duty manager on for the weekend. All this helps in providing a first class service. Thank you everyone for all your kindness. We hope to be back soon.

A great stay

I stayed here over night while waiting for a flight the next morning. Having stayed in quite a few hiltons I have to saythis was one of the best. The staff were very helpful and the food and room were top quality. If I ever have the chance, I'll stay there again in an instant!

Food very equisite

from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I thought that this hotel was lovely. ideal for those needing to use the airport.

We didnt pay much to stay there as my husband found a very good deal on the internet.

The food was very nice. Freshly cooked and very good quality. We got our evening meal included in the offer as well as the breakfasts. Although the drinks were quite expensive. The prices on the food menu were pretty steep too but to be honest its justified once you have your meal-thats how much i enjoyed it!!

The indoor pool is tiny!! We were a bit disappointed by this because you couldn't have a swim in it.

Whe rooms are clean and welcoming.

Overall i would say this hotel is nice but make sure you get a good deal!!

Located very close to airport terminals - within walking distance. They have taxi-buses to the terminals in the morning but it was so busy we just walked (helps if you have little luggage though).

Our room was a good size and comfortable. The staff in the bar and restaurant weren't very welcoming and the price of the drink and food was scandalous. This was a real case of once they have you in the door, they know you have nowhere else to go so they rip you off. We ended up eating at Bewleys Hotel which is a 5 minute walk away.

Breakfast was £19.50 per person!!!!!!! Need I say more?

Surprisngly good

from RogerfromLondon
This was our second stay in the past twelve months. We use the hotel as a convenient base to visit my wife's relatives in the South Manchester area.
The first time, we had some problems with the rooms and were moved twice before getting one where everything worked. This time we had booked a weekend deal at £149 including breakfasts and one free dinner.
We were upgraded to a deluxe room and everything was spot on first time. The staff are very friendly and pretty efficient and I felt we got exceptional service - even down to the sellotape they provided for present wrapping! Breakfasts were excellent quality and the dinner was very nice indeed, though a bit pricey at the full rate of £27.50 pp.
I think the full room charge is a bit over the top but wouldn't quibble if I was there for one night before flying off and the deal we did as a leisure break was very good value indeed.

Great hotel, excellent food and drink. Staff were excellent. Hotel was very clean and room service was fantastic.

I stay in a lot of hotels and the Hilton tops the majority. Underated in stars, should be 4 stars.

Shame Paris was not there to make this hotel a 5 star

Watch out for the mad roundabout The roundabout getting into this hotel is a bit strange and confusing, make sure you follow the road markings clearly!!

eating out 'Fine dining' at Moss Nook Restaurant about a mile away is very highly recommended too.
