I have stayed at this hotel several times. I have always been greeted with smiles and politeness. Booking in isn't a hassle. Rooms are basic but are clean and comfortable. Bathrooms are clean and have soap dispenser and towels. Tea/coffee making facilities are available and you are not frowned at when asked for a top up. Breakfast is buffet style and plentiful. Bar is well stocked. Compared to other hotels I have stayed at in Manchester, I would not bother myself looking for another one now unless they were booked up.

I have now stayed at the Diamond Lodge every year in May since 2005 with a couple of other stays in between. Being a family run hotel is I'm sure what makes all the difference.
The staff are great and most helpful - the smiles are welcome too, adding to the feeling of welcome and not just making you feel like another punter.
The rooms (I've stayed in several) are comfortable, clean, warm and well provided for in addition to the very useful internet service.
Breakfast is good, plenty and easy to get and at the end of the day the expanded restaurant menu is enough to avoid getting back in the car and searching for somewhere to eat (or park).
The bar is well stocked and the staff most accommodating late at night.
It is ideally located to nearby SportCity and I'm pretty sure the price is unbeatable for the standards offered.
Its worth noting that all those 'super offers' by other hotel chains are rarely anywhere conveniently located near your destination, if they are nearby, the costs fail to compare with the Diamond Lodge rates.

Stayed at the Diamond Lodge on a monday evening, found the staff to be like a re-enactment of Faulty Towers with basil faulty cleary at the realm, the gentleman didnt seem to be at all comfortable in his role and awkward when answering questions, the lady seemed to be in a world of her own, however there did seem to be some hope in the young waiter who was very good, rooms were not what i expected as there are a lot of nicer hotels for just a few pounds more, althouth the breakfast did help as was in with the price and very good value for money, the waiting staff in the breakfast room was very good, but i had to be checked out by the same lady from the previous night who still seemed to be on the same planet as the night prior (the sky must be always clear with here) all in all apart from basil and cybil i would stay again maybe just for the entertainment.

Have had the pleasure of staying in the Diamond a few times. Every time we stay the service, staff and facilities have been brilliant. Cannot recommend this enough as the best value hotel in Manchester. Great location for the Apollo and Dog Racing. The most relaxing and accommodating hotel. Well Done Diamond Lodge.

I really enjoyed my stay and the memory will last as long as I recall my first day in the UK being the first place I lodge on my first visit to the UK.The staff were friendly and helpful. Food was nice and hotel itself was basic, but it served its purpose. It was nice and clean and was worth the money, was very cheap.Would recommend to anyone.

Warm welcome and efficient and speedy book in. Bedrooms basic but clean and tidy as was the bathroom. Wonderful breakfast and also the evening meal menu. Excellent staff, nothing seems to much for them and are prepared to go out of their way to help you if they can. Their local knowledge is also very good. Manager is a happy go lucky chappie (must be because he is Welsh ha ha) Excellent value for money all round, would (and have) recommend to anyone. Not the Ritz but really suits the purse. Well done to you all!

The staff was friendly and helpful. Food was nice and hotel itself was basic, but it served its purpose. It was nice and clean and was worth the money, was very cheap. I had a really great weekend. Spent a few hours each night drinking in hotel bar, staff were good. Once again, lovely staff.
