Worst Hotel I have ever stayed in

Staying at the Britannia Country Hotel was not a good experience for me. I arrived in heavy rain, was unable to find anywhere to park. It took 15 mins to check in. Room was good, but heating thermostat broken, reported but staff never did anything. It continued to churn out very hot air for the full 3 days I was there. I was not able to open the windows due to the constant noise from the coaches coming and going with airport transfers, just below my window. They continued all night, with shouts and noise from the people and the coach engines. Anyway sounds better than the disco experience have read about in other reviews! Still got little good sleep and I was away on business so needed to have full brain power during day. The fire alarm kept going off as well, but all staff ignored it, quite worrying. Also the lift was broken when I arrived and I had to carry my heavy luggage up to the 4th floor, there was no suggestion of help. The lift was still out of order 3 days later, so had...... Read more

We stayed at this "hotel"as part of "park and stay".On arrival they gave us a room and we then went out for a meal. When we got back there was a disco in pro directly below our room.At midnight the noise was awful and the windows were vibrating. We phoned reception and asked what time it fininished and they said 01:00 a.m.We asked if they could get the volume turned down and they said that they had already asked the D.J. but he wouldn't.At 01:00 a.m. the music stooped but the shouting and noise of people went on until 01:50. We requested an early morning call at 07:00.They called us at 06:40. At breakfast we met the people from the next room and the lady actually went to reception in her nightgown to ask for less volume. To no avail. The bus on our return went at least 15 mins before the timetable time.We along with other people off our flight phoned the hotel and they said that the bus had already gone and that the next one was at 12:25.This bus didn't turn up and yet again we...... Absolutely disgusting hotel. Arrived late. staff hardly spoke or understood English. We had prepaid for a meal but were told they didn't have a record of it. The room was freezing, no heating, smelt of damp, filthy. There was a single sheet lengthwise down a double bed. Overall a very unpleasant experience. APH who we booked with have conveniently lost the original e- mail I sent to complain.

We stayed here on our return from holiday after a mix up with our booking through holiday extras we were offered a room which we would have to pay for again. Staff at night not very helpful. Once we were given a room at 02.30 the room was very smelly & cold. this hotel need to review its cleaning procedures. Would not recomend anyone to stay here and we will not use it again.
