Very Disappointed!

Flew into Manchester after staying for one night in Bewleys in Dublin airport with my boyfriend, very disappointed with the hotel. Although check in was quick and rooms were clean, the whole corridor and hallways stank of smoke (all the rooms were non-smoking).
I initially booked a Double room but when we were going to bed that night we noticed that it was a twin room,, with two single beds pushed together, with two single duvets. I rang reception, not to change room as that would be too much hassle, but just to ask them to send up a double duvet for a comfortable sleep but they said it was not possible to do that. Very disappointed with the attitude of the reception staff.
Wouldn't recommend eating in the hotel restaurant, Service was very slow and food was not great, disappointed seeing as it was not cheap either...
All in all I wouldn't recommend this hotel, pay that bit extra for decent service and quality. Wouldn't stay there again.
Wonderful Rooms

The large, clean rooms and bathrooms at Bewleys Hotel Manchester Airport are wonderful. Having free wireless internet makes doing business at all hours easy. The hotel's reception areas and facilities did however resemble a train station upon my arrival - not the most desirable atmosphere after a long flight.

Good Value

Stayed at Bewleys in February (£59) and April (£69) 2005. 15 days parking cost £30 each time, with Carminder - leave the car at Bewleys, pick it up at Carminder on return. Bewleys is excellent value, particularly given the location. We've stayed at the Radisson on numerous occasions since it opened but the long-stay car parking arrangements have varied each time, sometimes better than others. But the Radisson really isn't worth the enormous difference in cost. If you're travelling from T1 or T3, Bewleys is more convenient - much easier access than traipsing along the walkways, down escalators, up escalators etc etc. For T3, cut through the ground floor of the multi-storey car park and you're in front of the terminal; for T1, use the MyTravel entrance.

In February our room was in the original part of Bewleys, in April we were in the new build. From the outside it looks like a completely different hotel, doesn't blend in with the original at all, a little strange really. Inside, the new room was virtually identical to the old. Rooms were clean, comfortable and well appointed. Just a word of warning about the electrics in the new rooms - I used the dreaded hotel hairdryer, where you have to keep the button pressed in, and managed to blow the fuse for the whole room. I don't have long hair so it wasn't switched on excessively, but it did seem very hot. Didn't have time to phone for maintenance as we had a flight to catch, so husband had to shave in the half-dark!

Front desk staff are friendly. Long-stay car parking arrangements are convenient and good value. Breakfast buffet was fine, not as good as the Radisson but half the price, and certainly better than anything available in the airport.

By the way, speaking of the airport, be warned - we were there on a Thursday night and everything in T1 closed by 2000hrs, some even earlier. That included the pub, the shops and the eateries. So, if you want to eat or drink while waiting for a late-ish flight, take your own supplies because the airport obviously don't think you'll be hungry or thirsty!

Back to Bewleys. Okay, I do miss the views over the airport that I've enjoyed at the Radisson, particularly from the top floor (I'm not sure how a previous reviewer has managed to obtain a room at Bewleys with a view over the airport apron given the various roads, petrol station, elevated walkways, terminal buildings etc in between, but perhaps if you're on a high floor in the new build you can see over these things). But they are not worth the considerable difference in cost - in April the Radisson wanted almost twice the price, not including parking. Overall, Bewleys is excellent value and I would thoroughly recommend it.

Full marks

Arrived at Domestic Terminal 1 from Plymouth, spotted the free phone to call the hotel and a free taxi was sent straightaway to pick us up. You can see the hotel from the terminal but don't attempt to walk loaded up with a trolley unless you know exactly where to cross the many roads. There is only one route on foot - make sure you follow the walking man signs. Had a lovely modern comfortable room overlooking the airport apron - great for planespotters. Beds were incredibly comfortable and the bed linen and pillows were top quality. Buffet breakfast was very good with friendly helpful staff. Next morning felt confident to walk over to Terminal 3 with no trouble following the signs - a 10 minute slow stroll and avoiding the £3 each hotel bus. Stayed another night on our return from New Zealand, this time jet-lagged and disorientated. Different terminal exit and couldn't work out where we were. Couldn't find a free phone and taxis seemed unwilling to take us such a short distance. Decided to walk - big mistake. Couldn't find our way so staggered back exhausted. A taxidriver took pity on us and drove us over for £3. We arrived early desperate for sleep and the helpful receptionist found us a room. Trouble was we had roadworks and drilling right outside our window. We asked for an alternative, quieter room and were given one with no trouble at all. Full marks to Bewlay's for terrific value and excellent service.

Fantastic Value for money!

Bewleys was a total bargain, I stayed before an early morning flight to New York on 20th January. I was worried what it might be like because it was so cheap but upon arrival we checked in with minimal fuss and our room was well decorated with a lovely clean bathroom, TV and setee - we were really pleased! The hotel shuttle came every half hour in the morning and took about 3 minutes to get to terminal 3. We will definately stay again, in my opinion its not worth an early morning drive to the airport when you can stay here for this price!

Stayed there 2 nights in January, close to the airport, large rooms, very clean, great place to stay. Would definitely stay there again in the future.

Stayed before catching early am flight to new york. Lovely hotel, helpful staff, large, clean, modern rooms. Despite closeness to airport very quiet. Will be staying again

Pretty impressive - will stay there again

Pretty good value @ £59 / night within walking distance of all 3 termini at airport. I had large double room with nice en-suite and sitting area to myself. Pleaseant bar area open till late. Can't comment personally on the food because I didn't eat there but those in the group who had breakfast said it was pretty good.

Bewley's are building a big extension next door and so have warning notices in the rooms that there may be some noise during the day. Apart from some hammering at 0830 I didn't notice anything.

This might be my new favourite economy Manchester Airport hotel. Surprisingly quiet and not much more than a Travel Lodge with no need to find an early morning taxi

Great Hotel for the money. One of the most traveler friendly hotels in Europe. You can't beat it for quality and price IMO.

I and 2 friends stayed at Bewleys the night before an early flight to Cyprus, the room and bathroom were very clean and nicely furnished. The staff were very attentive and well organised. The food on the buffet was excellant.

All in all it was good value for money, some people expect too much for what they have paid. If you want 5* accomadation pay 5* prices.

Excellent hotel at bargain prices

Chose the hotel based on the reviews here. We stayed for four days. The hotel is excellent and incredibly well-priced. Despite the fact that the hotel is situated between Terminals 1 and 3 there was no aircraft noise and we slept with the windows open all night and were not disturbed.

The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated and very clean indeed - something I must have. The staff are helpful. The food good and also very good value. Room service is a limited menu but tasty and cheap.

I loved this hotel. It is a cross between a TravelLodge and a four star hotel. It has good points of both. Great rooms at great prices. And mega convenient for the airport.

I wish they would open one of these in Basingstoke where we often need to stay. Bewley's are you listening?!!!!

Excellent Hotel!!

This hotel is fantasic, we stayed here june 14th before an early morning flight to Florida. All staff were helpful, room was gorgeous just as nice if not better than the Radisson SAS (where we stayed last year) at manchester airport which is three times the price!!
There was a double bed with table chairs and a setttee!! Bathroom was extremely spacious too!!

If staying at machester i would recommed staying here!!

Top Local Tips for Manchester

What a great place! Take a couple of days to visit the city itself; use this hotel as a base and take the train into the city centre to enjoy the shops, restaurants, entertainment.

Piublic Transport Use airport train station. Much cheaper than taxis but for some reason 2 single tickets appear cheaper than a return!
