We stayed here August 10th for 3 nights. We were down Maidstone to visit Leeds Castle for the classic car weekend. The rooms were clean and comfortable and bright. The bar and staff were excellent, the food was 1st class, they even made us sandwiches for next days picnic "try the beef and horseradish." They could not do enough to be helpful, and the breakfasts were brilliant. Thank you for a nice stay.

Amazing value for money, they bent over backwards to make our wedding the perfect day. Faultless service and friendly efficient staff. Can't recommend highly enough.

This hotel is awful. We arrived on Friday afternoon in readiness to attend a family wedding the next day. We were given a family room down a dingy corridor (with the bar toilets a few feet away)which was hard to get into as the lock was so close to the door frame. Doors and skirting in the corridor were shabby and scratched. The room itself had grubby, scuffed wallpaper, an inch of dust on everything including the tea/coffee tray which had mismatched crockery and a filthy coffee pot. The door frames were peeling and some painted a different colour to the others. The bathroom was clean (the ONLY good point about this place). Bathroom lock was unuseable as it was hanging off and there was a huge hole in the door itself. The "double" bed had one pretty poor mattress one side and the saggiest mattress I have ever seen on the other. Bedspreads were faded and tired looking. We complained to the manager who said she had no where else to put us.She told us that the mattresses are saggy because they have builders stay in those rooms and they jump on the beds!! She said "can't one of your kids sleep on that one?" We agreed a reduction in price as we had no option due to attending the wedding the next day.
When we went to bed we realised that we were right next to the disco of another wedding that day.We were not warned in advance that there would be noise. Had we been, we wouldn't have stayed there! There were drunken morons from the wedding party leaning on the door discussing the size of their manhood. Nice when you have two young girls in the room. When my husband complained he was told "some people are inconsiderate, we can't control their behaviour"!!! I spoke to the "manageress" on the phone and said that for the amount of money they were charging, the standard of room was appalling and she said "it's Kent, it's expensive"!! They offered to find us another hotel, then came back saying they couldn't find one and would we like two double rooms in their hotel across the road. We said we would, so at midnight we traipsed down the street with our two kids into two stinking smokers rooms. Like sleeping in an ashtray. Vile.
As we left our family room, the manageress asked if we wanted the room for the next night, as if we didn't she wanted to re-let it! Told her she was welcome to it. She said we would be more than welcome to keep the room so we could get ready for the wedding at 14.30.
We came back for breakfast the next morning (cooked breakfast was awful) and retired to our original room to try and get some sleep. Were told that someone on staff had been in the bar looking for us. We assumed it was to apologise and arrange some kind of compensation. NO! They wanted to ensure we were going to vacate the room! Were then told to get out by 1300!!
We asked to speak to a manager or the proprieter. A woman who said she was the proprietor came to our room, but I have certainly never been spoken to by anyone in her position the way she spoke to me. I explained all the problems and said that we felt that we had been treated very badly and she disagreed with me on every point, told me I was wrong and talked over me. The only saving grace was that apart from our deposit she did not expect us to pay. Surely if you felt you had provided a good service you would expect your customer to pay? Please do not waste your money staying here. They have no idea of customer care. Don't care more like. As a consequence of our experience, we decided to travel home the day of the wedding. A completely ruined family weekend away. I have never stayed anywhere where the managerial staff have such a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction. That said, the lad behind the bar, and the one serving breakfast were very pleasant.

We researched the hotel on the internet but as it was important to get an early start I telephoned the hotel to check if we could get an early breakfast. They assured us we could through the night porter and at the same time took our booking. They did not advise us of the total price and we assumed it was that quoted on their website.
The night porter saw us come down to have breakfast at 6 am and even said good morning. He then disappeared for 15 minutes leaving us to sit in a virtually unlit breakfast room with no coffee, milk of fruit juice. When I eventually tracked us down and asked him why he had left us he said we 'could do what we liked'.
A subsequent complaint to the management, which was only answered after several emails and telephone calls received the response that the porter did not realise that we wanted breakfast. As he saw us enter the breakfast room at 6 am I would have thought that this was sufficient indication.
I have yet to receive a response to my follow up complaint again after several emails.
