We have just got back from a 3 night stay, Shelley's is a very friendly hotel with everything you could wish for, we can't recommend it enough.
Spotlessly clean, the room was to a high standard and well decorated just as on the website.

The hotel has been refurbished to a very high standard, with comfortable beds, lashings of hot water in the shower, and expensive soft furnishings, but the atmosphere is relaxed and informal.
There is an extremely comfortable lounge and a cosy bar area, and if all you feel like doing is relaxing with a book and a glass of wine, it's there for you.
Overlooking the bay and harbour in Lynmouth, at the foot of the Glen Lyn Gorge, this hotel is ideally situated to take advantage of everything the area has to offer. Across the road is the start of a walk in the Watersmeet Valley, following the river as it tumbles through mossy glades and sun dappled woods.
The area is riddled with stunning coastal walks and scenic footpaths, and there are breathtaking views at every turn in the road.

Shelley's has to be one of the best locations in Lynmouth with it's superb sea views from the breakfast room and nearly all of the bedrooms, the view across Lynmouth Bay from our conservatory balcony room was really lovely.
Shelley's is decorated to a very high standard indeed, spotlessly clean, well presented and very tastefully furnished throughout.
The freshly cooked to order breakfasts are just wonderful with a great choice of quality produce from a really excellent full breakfast to scrambled egg with smoked salmon, kedgeree, kippers, and waffles served with maple syrup.
For a relaxing, peaceful, perfect holiday break, then Lynmouth is the place to go to get away from it all and enjoy the absolutely magnificent coast and countryside of Exmoor National Park.
Overall, we all wish we could have stayed longer and we will definitely come back again for a longer stay. After a fortnight on the road around the South West this was by far the best hotel, altogether a wonderful stay!

The owners were fantastic from arrival to departure, so attentive and helpful.
The property is spotless and really calming and the breakfasts were superb, timely and well cooked. I'm normally very picky when staying away but Shelley's was so good I would go back in a flash if I could.
Very reasonably priced rooms as well.
There are some wonderful walks in the area, we did the Lynmouth to Rockford and Beacon Tor circular walk as featured in the Scene magazine free in the hotel.
If you do this be prepared for a very steep climb up Coutisbury Hill, but it is worth it. Shelley's is very good indeed. Highly recommended!

Well appointed lounge and dining room, both with lovely views.
Superb breakfast with a large choice of food for personal menu selection each day, so you are able to choose as much or as little as you like.
Many lovely touches, the bedroom well presented and furnished. Recommend unreservedly.

Shelley's is lovely with really great standards in a very informal way but Jane & Richard are always on hand if you need any help.
Large, comfortable beds with good quality furnishings and a few really nice touches and attention to detail that gave a feeling of luxury and breakfast really is as good as previous reviews say, hearty with plenty of choice
The best rooms are the conservatory balcony rooms, it was a fabulous place to sit and take in the splendid views. The extra we paid was fully justified, the rate was very fair and their Exmoor Breaks offer is excellent value.
Location is as central as you could wish for and Lynmouth makes a great base from which to explore Exmoor National Park, whatsmore there are lots of places to eat in the evening to suit all pockets.
Shelley's is very highly-recommended and having spent too many long hours in airport lounges we will definitely be returning next year.

We booked at the last minute after searching on many websites - we were attracted by the lovely location of the hotel and photos of the rooms. The hosts were really helpful and friendly, it was better than many top hotels I have stayed in. The ensuite room was gorgeous with beautiful sea views, and the location excellent. If you are going to stay anywhere in Lynmouth your should stay here.

We travelled a long way to get to Shelley's but it was absolutely worth it, the fact that our journey is some three hundred and fifty miles each way says it all.
We will definitely visit again, and highly recommend it, we await our next visit this Autumn with eager anticipation.

Throughout there is attention to detail with lovely furnishings beautifully decorated and immaculately clean, our room was every bit as lovely as the photos on the website suggest.
The breakfasts are by far the nicest that we have ever had at any hotel, with an impressive choice to suit all tastes.
The location of Shelley's is ideal, in the centre of Lynmouth with sea views overlooking the bay - spectacular!
We would recommend Shelley's to anyone wanting a peaceful and luxurious break, our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer tahn 2 nights.
We will certainly return.
