Lynmouth is fab. Even in peak season it is not spoilt and has plenty to offer, sadly thats not the case with the Bath hotel. The decor is dated tatty and smells. A dirty brown carpet on the bathroom floor is a definate no no. Lynmouth yes the Bath hotel no.

Dated, could do with redecorating

Decorations to all areas are dated, it could do with redecorating and a general improving of the decor and furnishing. The bathroom did not having a proper shower, it was a push over the bath taps type of shower and not very good at all... They could provide non-smoking rooms: ours reeked of stale fag smoke, all they did was remove the ashtray. The food was reasonable but not outstanding. There was little choice and some courses were very expensive with a large supplement for one particular course.

Pet & Child Friendly Hotel

The hotel is both children and dog friendly, and is ideal for families with pets looking for a base from which to explore this part of Devon and Exmoor.
It is located near the harbour in a central location. Parking was a problem as the hotel only has limited car parking, not enough for all of the guests.
We were made to feel welcome by the hotel proprietors who gave us lots of information where to take the children.
There are lots of art and craft shops and cozy pubs and restaurants in Lynton & Lynmouth and the scenery is just beautiful.

The location near the harbour was good but the hotel was tired and had obviously seen better days. My boyfriend and I recently spent three days in Lynmouth at the Bath Hotel on a supposed romantic break.
Most of the other guests were very very elderly indeed, so no it was not the best place to stay. Breakfast was adequate.

My husband and I recently had two nights in Lynmouth. The Bath Hotel has a nice location but is a bit tired and dated, as we found out it is not the best place to stay in Lynmouth.
The other guests tended to be much older than us, to be honest we found the hotel disappointing, although breakfast was nice enough.

Top Local Tips for Lynmouth

Few eateries The Village Inn seems a good place to eat, and The Rising Sun has good food but miserable staff and get there before 8.30 or they wont serve you.
