I stayed at the Lymm Hotel on Saturday 3rd September and was very disappointed by the poor service. Having made my reservation directly with the hotel for a twin room a few weeks prior, I arrived with my son to be told that they only had a double room available. When I booked originally I had been very specific about my requirements for a twin room and after some discussion on the phone was assured that this would be available. On the Saturday morning of my arrival my sister was told specifically that yes, I had a twin room booked. I should also mention that the room I ended up with was stocked with towels for a single occupancy not double and one of the two bulbs in a dull room did not work.

Two other colleagues in my party also had significant problems with their reservations including one who had booked the Friday and Saturday night being told on the Saturday by the Manager that he had to leave as he had only booked for the Friday. He told him that he was mistaken when he thought he had booked for two days. The Manager went so far as to say "we all make mistakes" when he tried to blame him for the error. Luckily my colleague eventually found a copy of his booking to prove that he was not a liar, as was being implied.

A Reservation is a fundamental tenet when using a hotel and if that fails and you cant trust the hotel to do what it has agreed to then the hotel does not deserve to be in business. My experience with the Lymm Hotel was shabby and I will not use it again.

Restaurants in Lymm Just down the road from the hotel you will find the quaint village of Lymm. It has an excellent Turkish restaurant, a characterless but popular Italian, a good curry house and a bistro/wine bar. If that doesn't tickle your fancy, all of the 6 or so pubs serve food and there is even an Indian takeaway and a Chinese Chippy.
