Absolute Hell!

This was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We had actually booked for two nights, but the first was so bad we actually left and forfeited the second night - the cancellation policy meant we lost our money. How bad is that? I wouldn't even stay there for free! The staff were incredibly rude; the rooms had locked metal bars on them - massive fire hazzard; faulty smoke alarms; no fire extinguisher; unimaginably awful breakfast; hairs on the bed; hotel employee outside our basement window in the morning; window wouldn't close; dirty bathroom; small 'double bed'; Frankly, it was a living nightmare - no hyperbole. I have stayed in numerous hotels in London for a similar price - this one is awful - even with reduced expectations. Avoid it at all cost. PS: It nearly ended our relationship.

Stay away from the quadruple rooms!

We rented a quadrupleroom. It was placed in the ground floor, and the smell of moldy basement was meeting us already in the stairs down. When entering the room we were met by a moisty and muggi smell, and the walls had severe water damages. The sheets felt humid when going to bed. One of the bed had damages to the frame (2 of the horizontal bars the madrass is placed on were missing). We asked the staff to replace it, but discovered that the bed had just been turn around. So instead of falling through the bed with the head, my son now fell through the bed with the feet. The staff was grumpy, and we met only one girl actually interested in giving service. The hotel also adverts with TV, but you have to pay additional £5 to get the remote control.

As stated in other reviews, don't believe Wedgewood's website.. The rooms are horrible. The beds are dreadful - you sink almost all the way down to the floor on the mattress and on my trip there were spotted.. insects in the beds. The bathrooms (which are approx. 2x3 metres wide in the room I stayed in) are bad, you can't always flush and the shower sucks. The food is horrible too. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Don't believe the website

Please do not believe what the website shows, in reality the rooms and breakfast area are awful. The bathroom had cracked tiles on the floor which was dangerous. In addition the toilet would only let you flush when ever it decided!!! The shower had a trickle of a water stream. The net curtains had holes and rips in them, walls had mucky marks on them. Breakfast had everyone rushing up to get the toast as not enough was provided for all the guest, its was like a NEXT sale (mayhem). Overall not impressed stayed in far better youth hostels!!!

Wedgewood Hotel - Umm

This short 3 night stay was a surprise for my husband's 40th birthday. I had to change reservations due to funding and checked out the wedgewood hotel site - well don't believe what you see there. The breakfast room looks nothing like and the bedrooms - well what can i say - they looked nice and on the site - the room we were given 104 was a large room with tv, kettle, toliet, shower, bed....but the bed was a fold out bed the sort with metal frame with thin mattress that they had tried to put a headboard to that just fell down behind it. The toilet/shower if you were really clever you could have had a shower whilst sitting on the toilet. . .to actuallly get to the toilet you had to walk in backwards. The large curtains at the windows were all falling off the track so you'd be blinded by street lights at night. The coffee sachets had been in the room so long that the granuals had all stuck together and came out in one lump. The only positive side to visit was that the room was cleaned and hoovered every day, location was good for the circle line of tube, lots of restaurants close by. The breakfast was adequate although as soon as you sat at a table 2 slices of toast were put down in front of you and you darn't have asked for more. Would definitely not return or recommend.
