Top Local Tips for London
How to get to London from Gatwick Airport- Ride the Gatwick Express into London. This saves you about 30 minutes (versus regular train service), putting you out at Victoria station. You can then ride the tube to your hotel, or get a taxi from here. Tickets on the Gatwick Express can be purchased with no penalty by credit card on the train. You can purchase a round trip ticket, which reduces the fare. Spring for first class, and they give you a "Fast Track" pass on your return to Gatwick, which puts you at the front of the line to get through security. Drinks and snacks are served on the train, and they will take American dollars.
Taking the Train If arriving in London early in the morning on a weekend (as we did) take the train from the airport, there is very few people in the trains and you will save money on your ride to the hotel.
