When we checked in we were given a hard sell to upgrade and basically we were told the better rooms were lovely and newly refurbished and ours was old and tatty. It was slightly better than that. Wallpaper peeling, chipped furniture etc. Our towels were taken away and not replaced, tea and coffee not refilled, breakfast very low quality and stale croissants. Mini bar left unstocked unless you asked for it to be filled - surely would be sensible to fill it in the first place!? 2 pc's for public use however you have to pay for the priviledge and no leaflets in reception to help tourists. Room service at a ridiculous price £15 for a sandwich!! Only 4 lifts for a hotel with 800 rooms, always lots of people waiting and the only stairs you can use are in the service quarters and very difficult to find.
The view from the hotel was nice but not worth the price

Could not fault my stay.
Beautiful views, great, clean rooms, lovely service. Only slight letdown was the breakfast, which was average.
Would definately stay again and recommend it to anyone!

Good points - Great price, booked with Londontown.com
Had a free room upgrade when we arrived (huge bed), Great location and the views from our 3rd floor room were spectacular, the room was very very nice, if you book for a cooked breakfast it was very good, really filling and will help you through the rest of the day. Very helpful staff and got us fast tracked with card into The Hard Rock Cafe.
Bad Points - When it gets busy the lifts are a little slow, and queues for breakfast can be long if you don\'t go down early enough, and I could have done with some bubble bath and a flannel in the bathroom. The ice machines were never very full. Otherwise I would definitely recommend it, and hope to stay there again as the hotel made our stay!!

The tower hotel was a great place to stay. The room was spotless on arrival and the staff were a great help on where to eat and travel would definitely recommend to any age group. I did not try the restaurant so cant comment on the food but there is plenty of choice. Will definitely stay again.

As a family of four (two 15 year olds), we had a two night stay. On arrival the staff were very helpful in delivering our luggage to our two rooms on the third floor (without upgrade). The rooms were of a very good standard with one looking over the Thames and the other rear of the hotel. Breakfast was very good(if a little crazy at times!). We had one evening meal at the Carvery which was great and with us going to a show, dinning before 7.00pm gave 30% discount! Taxis were arranged by the hotel and the location means a cab to the Westend was appx.£15.00. Overall a great hotel and would stay again no question!

Stayed for 2 nights and as with most we paid the £35 per night upgrade and got a superb room overlooking Tower Bridge, the only fault was the internet, it wouldn`t work in our room and we had trouble getting online anywhere in the hotel other than that a very nice stay with pleasant staff ... would visit again.

Married couple on weekend getaway (sans offspring). Booked theatre & hotel package through a major discount website. Very pleased with the room, did not upgrade. Stayed on first floor (2nd floor to US travelers) with nice view of the Thames and St. Katherine's docks. Staff was very friendly and helpful, room well appointed, 3 minute walk to Tower Hill tube station. Did not avail oursleves of bar or restaraunt facilities in the hotel. It appears that all of the remodeling mentioned in previous reviews is complete. Will try to stay here again the next time we need a break from the progeny.

We stayed for one night at the Tower Hotel. We decided to upgrade our room for £35 and it was well worth it! The view was amazing, we got a room overlooking Tower Bridge on the 10th floor. The room was spotless and the toiletries were great !!!! shower gel/shampoo & Conditioner, flannel. The shower worked fine and the bed was very comfortable. The location is great if you want a hotel that has good access to the west end or docklands via the tube. It takes about 10 mins to walk to St Pauls and approx 50 mins if you walk along the river Thames to Charing Cross/Trafalgar Sq. Going back in April for another weekend break, it was that good!

I booked 3 nights at Tower hotel for my partner's 40th birthday, we booked with lastminute.com, because of this we were given a twin room on the 5th floor. The ONLY floor yet to be refurbished, the decor is disgusting it stinks of cigarettes and is filthy with torn carpets and wallpaper. We asked to be moved to a double room but were told none were available but we could upgrade for £35 a night extra. We declined, after a restless night in separate beds wondering why the other floors we passed in the elevator were so much different we complained to a manager who told us before we had chance to complain that he knew the 5th floor was below 4 star however it was where standard bookings were put, we were immediately moved to the 6th floor which was of 4 star standard and very light and clean, even the pillows, towels and complimentry toiletries were of a better quality.
Restaurants are fantastic with excellent food and service, and the view of tower bridge from the bar at night is fantstic. Would recommend it just dont accept the 5th floor if you book online!
