I didn't see any reviews of this hotel before I made the reservation, and if I had, I would definitely have found another place to stay. That said, the hotel is fine if you just need a place to sleep, and nothing else; we tried the breakfast one morning while there, it was less than satisfying, and so was the general standard of the interior; windows that couldn't be shut, wallpaper peeled off and cracked tiles in the bathroom. No problems with the staff, though, but then again, we only spoke to them on check in and checkout (both in daytime). So all in all; if you need a place to stay each night from midnight to 8am, its fine - otherwise, skip it!

I should say the unit was clean enough, but many things should be under construction such as the windows, closets, door e.t.c the check in reception (check in time 16:00pm) was very very helpful, but the check out reception (check out 03:00am) was sleeping & not helped us enough with the taxi problem we had.....
I must say that the price was high enough for this resort and if I knew what I'd see before booking, I wouldn't make the reservation.

The Ascot Hotel has three things going for it: location, location, location, and it is inexpensive and the desk staff responsive. That said, its infrastructure is broken and it is marginally adequate on cleaning. The breakfast is definitely second rate. If it has been upgraded, we might consider staying there again; otherwise, clearly not.

Top Local Tips for London
Getting back from Leicester Square If you're out really late and the underground is closed, a taxi should only cost about £20 (although finding an official one might be difficult). Don't walk back. It's fairly safe but is just too far too walk. I think there's a night bus (23) that runs near the hotel. There's a Sainsburys Food store at Paddington railway station also if need cheap ishfood.
